Man, I didn't even realize we were staring down a mess this big. 😲 Maybe we should just ask the sysadmins to take the Reddit offline for a couple of daysβ€”just enough time to actually get things sorted out...

I'm not entirely sure if I'm picking up on sarcasm here... β€” Fry

Looks like there are a few more of us who fell victim to the Reddit clock... 🧐

πŸ™‚

It’s fine that they’re posting later than when I actually put them upβ€”it just messes with the order, so you end up with a reply sitting above the original post it was actually responding to... 😁

Sure, it’s not exactly a massive crisisβ€”but when threads get this crowded, things just turn into a total free-for-all where nobody knows who's actually running the show... 😳

I don't mind it on the "standard" threads, but in the live chats? It's pure chaos. You can't tell who's calling the shots anymore... 🀷

Someone please fix this; I’m already struggling to keep track of my own threads, let alone everyone else's 😒

I went ahead and reached out to the folks who actually handle these kinds of issues, so I'll be sure to give you all an update as soon as I hear back from them.

Hmm, are we talking about the same people who manage the servers and the database? πŸ€”

If so, please tell them to just leave things alone. Honestly, they might need a several-hundred-page manual just to figure out how to read posts... it’s getting ridiculous. Try this: read the last post minus 5 (that's your first unread one), then take that number minus 5 plus 2 for the second one, then ((last - 5) + 2) - 7 for the third, and so on... β˜•

Don't even mention it, that's what I'm here for! πŸ™‚

Anyway, they actually reached out and said the issue is fixed, so everything should be running smoothly now.

It happens all the time where you see a quote from a post, but then the actual post being quoted shows up underneath it, and they both hit at the exact same time. It’s honestly pretty confusing 😬

Yeah, it's definitely happening 😁
It’s an issue on the server side, I guess.

We know the deal. β˜• They already came out once to fix it, and they did the job, but clearly it wasn't a permanent solution... 😳

It kind of glitches out every now and then, I guess. For me, it’s been stuck on English for two days straight, and then it’ll flip over to American, and then back again... just totally all over the place 😁

So I actually have the option to hit the like button on here (meanwhile she’s over there complaining about having to skip through posts) 😬

It’s reached a whole new level of broken, this skipping 😡

Not only does it fail to nest the reply three posts back like it should, but you can't even see your own comment immediately after posting without having to manually refresh the page πŸ™‚

Honestly, though, I actually kind of dig the jumping posts πŸ™‚ It adds a nice touch of personality to this forum, which is increasingly starting to feel like a convention for high-minded moralists

So, I guess if I hit send on a post at, say, 1:10 PM, the timestamp actually shows up as 1:11 PM... then, when I go to post again immediately right after that, the next one somehow says 1:10 PM instead πŸ˜•πŸ˜•
