So, I'm 13, male... and I honestly feel pretty mature and independent for my age—I handle my own practice schedule, have a solid group of friends, stay home by myself all day, just sort of managing my own thing... but I've run into this one issue. When I try to sleep in my own room, sometimes I just can't drift off at all. Other times, I finally fall asleep only to find myself wide awake again at 3:00 AM. Because of that, I've been crashing in the living room with my dad sometimes, since I always seem to sleep through the night there. Anyway, I have two questions:

1. Any tips on how to actually fall asleep easier?
2. Why is it that almost every single time I manage to sleep, I end up waking up at 3:00 AM?

It isn't just that you seem more mature; you also appear to be significantly healthier, or perhaps just more active than most people I encounter
.
I suppose I should ask whether you actually experience fatigue—for instance, when you find yourself awake at 3:00 AM, do you feel truly rested and well-slept?

... Personally, I have never found it useful to compare myself to others to determine if I am "normal" 😉, nor would I ever dream of judging anyone else 😍

It depends—sometimes yeah, sometimes no...

Look, if you actually want to catch some Z's, try cutting out the snacks and ditching the screens at least two hours before hitting the sack—it really does make a difference. And seriously, try to stick to a schedule; going to bed at the same time every night helps set your internal clock. If your brain starts racing the second your head hits the pillow—you know how it is, just endless loops of random thoughts—maybe try a warm shower or putting on some chill, low-key music to take the edge off. Also, weirdly enough, maybe try sleeping in a different room for a bit? It’s entirely possible your mattress is trash or even just the way your bed is positioned in the room is messing with your vibe.
