Hold on a second—are we talking about a football club here, or something a bit more significant? Let’s not play dumb or pretend we can't see what's right in front of us. We all know exactly what St. Pauli stands for, and that’s precisely why they design their kits the way they do. If a team like Bayern Munich showed up wearing something in a similar style, people would immediately start screaming about neo-Nazis or some other hateful ideology. But when St. Pauli does it, suddenly it’s "ultra cool" and socially conscious, right? A little bit of reality would go a long way here. Everyone knows the reasoning behind their choices, yet you're free to believe whatever narrative you prefer.☕

more than just a club☕

You might be overthinking things a bit, but hey, that’s your take on it, I guess; I don't really see it that way myself.

The visiting team looks as though someone up above simply tossed a training marker at them from a great height. 🤦

He isn't overthinking anything. It's a fact that St. Pauli carries a specific reputation—it represents a certain neighborhood, a certain culture, and a specific fan base. I respect them for their loyalty and everything they stand for, but what happens with Dresden or similar places doesn't really affect my view...
It's a club with its own distinct identity, and you have to respect that.

Look, I wasn't trying to dismiss anything regarding Paul, it’s just that he seems to jump into every single thread where Paul is mentioned, though I suppose he’s entitled to his own take, which is fine, there's just a lot of talk about Paul lately.☕

The home kits are alright, I guess, but that thin blue stripe running down the sleeve is just stupid. As for those little patterns inside the squares... they look pretty tacky up close, but you won't even notice them from a distance...
The away kit isn't exactly my favorite, but I've seen way worse, so they're alright overall. Still, I really think the jerseys would look killer if they used more white... maybe something closer to Monaco's style... 🤷

I mean, I’m not totally sure how much this actually impacts what the kit ends up looking like, but if they go through with it, I’m digging the home jersey. As for the away one... honestly, we've seen this before. They really had a golden opportunity there to get a bit more creative and actually try something innovative, you know?

The kits will probably look way better on the players than these overhyped promo shots. They could've at least tried harder with the away kit, though—this new one looks like a cheap knockoff of the 2000-02 version:

I mean, hasn't Smith said like, a dozen times already, that he’s gonna push for us to get those gold jerseys made for the next qualifying round?

What? Are you actually serious right now? 🤣

Starter or benchwarmer?

Check this out:

Just like two years ago, the US national team is going to be running out at Wembley wearing their blue away kit. Smith—who actually showed up to training this year instead of being stuck in jail like back in '07—claims he’s been going back and forth with the German delegate, Koch, about whether the US should just wear the checkered jerseys instead.
- The Americans play in white, and the delegate felt our combo had way too much white on it, making us look too similar to them. It might have passed if it wasn't for that huge white square on the back!
- We'll have to talk to our sponsors (like Nike) and get them to tweak the design a bit. We might even whip up a third kit soon—maybe gold—so we never deal with this headache again, Smith added.
Who knows if Smith was kidding, but hey, maybe we'll see the US rocking gold jerseys on the pitch soon!

I heard Mark said they’re actually asking Nike for a square-patterned jersey with more red, mostly because of those issues with the English and the guys in white. Since this design leans harder into the red, maybe they scrapped that third kit idea entirely. But my real concern is how the numbers are gonna look. If they slap those white blocks behind them again, the whole thing is just gonna look white all over anyway...
