Anyone else a fan?

I honestly think she's incredible. Everything about her work just feels so soft—these light, pastel tones everywhere, and there's this gentle vibe to it all. Plus, having that post-punk sound playing in the background while the characters stay quiet and sort of melancholic... it just hits different.

And we're getting even closer to "Nowhere" soon. ^^

Seriously, she’s stunning. Such a refined actress and director—I guess you could say she just has that touch.

I was honestly blown away by her take on Marie Antoinette.

I’m totally on board with the comment left under the YouTube video in the first post.

Seriously, I can't stop rewatching this trailer. You can tell it's a Sofia Coppola project from the very first frame. She has a unique cinematic style.

I don't know, I guess she has more than just one good movie, since she did The Virgin Suicides and Marie Antoinette, which were pretty decent too. So, maybe she isn't a total one-hit wonder after all.

I love somewhere. The Bling Ring doesn't really stick in my mind, though I think it was alright. The Virgin Suicides was perfect for me, but man, that was ages ago. I'm still trying to force myself to get through Lost in Translation, especially after nodding off during the first few minutes back when it first hit theaters. 🤷

I can't call her a total failure because Lost in Translation is a timeless film. But it’s also true that the rest of her work doesn't even come close to that one.

I thought The Beguiled was pretty bad.

Honestly, we should all just forget this movie ever existed. I have a deep-seated disdain for remakes of great classics, so The Beguiled is certainly no exception to my rule.

I guess I agree that The Beguiled wasn't great, but it makes me wonder—what about actually good remakes of classic movies? Do you just hate all of them, or do you think decent ones just don't exist?

I have a real soft spot for Sofia Coppola's work. I'm particularly drawn to 'Lost in Translation' and 'Somewhere'.
'Marie Antoinette' and 'The Virgin Suicides' are also quite excellent.

Lost in translation is easily her peak—hands down her best work. I mean, The Virgin Suicides and especially Somewhere are pretty solid movies too, though they aren't really everyone's cup of tea. Everything else she's done feels kind of mediocre to me, honestly, even sub-par in some cases. I haven't sat down to watch her latest one yet.

I just finished watching Somewhere, such a great movie.

Lost in Translation is an absolute masterpiece. To be honest, I haven't been quite as impressed by the rest of their filmography.
