Some laptop keys aren't working?

Quick question—I just finished cleaning out the fan and swapping the thermal paste on my HP laptop, and now the F9 and F10 brightness keys aren't responding. Weirdly enough, the volume controls (F6 and F7) are working perfectly fine. Any ideas?

It’s an HP Probook 455 G1 running Windows 10. I actually did a clean reinstall yesterday and everything was working flawlessly—until I opened it up to change the paste. Now those specific keys are dead.

Under the keyboard section, look for HP Hotkey Support (American, International)... I went ahead and selected Windows 10 (64bit) on the link myself.

If that doesn't do the trick—and since you mentioned messing with the thermal paste earlier—it’s possible you pulled one of those ribbon cables connecting the keyboard a little too hard...
