Alright, here's the deal...
I can't get Steam to connect while I'm staying at my college dorm in Chicago. Steam keeps throwing this error at me: ''it appears that you are not currently connected to the internet, or that your internet connection is not configured correctly for steam''
Torrents are flying, everything else works fine... it’s just Steam and Battle.net that won't connect for the life of me.
Basically, does anyone actually know what's going on here—like, what the actual problem is—and more importantly, does anyone know how to fix it??
Thanks.

So, seriously, does nobody have an answer?

Try deleting the clientregistry.blob file located in your C:\Program Files\Steam\ folder (or wherever you have it installed), then just give Steam another restart...

Have you tried doing a clean reinstall of Steam? :cptn. obvious:

Yeah... installation's stuck because the connection keeps dropping.😢Probably just some admin being a stickler—is there actually a way around it, or are we stuck?🙂

Honestly, if you've got a laptop on you, just head over to a local coffee shop with free Wi-Fi and you should be good to go. 😳

I’d probably suggest you track down some gamer who actually has Steam installed so they can jump on Discord... I mean, I think I’ve even played with a few people remotely before and things were relatively fine, but still.
Just head over to a buddy's place, fire up his PC, get Steam installed, and see if it actually works.
Well, looks like we’re officially stuck if they’ve blocked those connections, especially since your internet is basically a paperweight right now anyway... I mean, what else can you even do? Unless Google is your absolute best friend at this point, you might as well just head over to the Steam forums and see if anyone there has figured out a workaround.

I think the issue is it just auto-recreates itself the second I launch Steam—so deleting it is basically pointless... either way, looks like Steam is gonna be a lost cause until summer...

Has anyone by any chance stumbled upon a fix for this yet? I’m running into the exact same headache with the Ubisoft Connect service...

Give us some details on what's actually going wrong. It's been four years since anyone even touched this thread... help us out with the specifics. What OS are you running, who's your ISP, which app is acting up, exact version number...
