PC won't shut down

Hey everyone. Got a bit of a situation here. Every single time I try to shut down my PC, it just completely ignores me. Literally just now, I tried clicking shutdown at least 20 times and... nothing. For the last two nights, I've had to just rip the plug out of the wall to get it to stop. If anyone knows what's going on, let me know. Any advice?

If you're having a hard time getting it to shut down, just hold down that big power button on the tower for a few seconds.

Yeah, I’m doing that, but is it actually good for the computer? I heard you could end up wearing out the hardware or something...

It’s not going to recover, don't sweat it. It looks like something was scraping away at your Windows installation.

Did Windows break on you? Is there a corrupted file, or is some malware preventing it from shutting down?
Some people might suggest running a scan with Malwarebytes or something similar...
If it were me, I'd just restore my backup. Problem solved in ten minutes.
