Hi, I'm new here (:
I was hoping you all might be able to help me out, so I decided to join and ask...
Anyway, this past Saturday night, I just didn't have the energy to head out, and I felt pretty terrible since I've been sick (though the night before, my friends and I were hanging out until 7 AM in 35-degree weather eating cold snacks quite a bit :/) oh well... I woke up in the middle of the night and vomited five times, and it was quite heavy. The next day I felt really ill and for the last two days, I've had diarrhea about 3 or 4 times a day. Last night, I hit a fever of 102 and chills. On top of that, I developed a cold sore on the corner of my lip. :/ I feel like I've already lost weight, which is really bothering me 😢... I'm wondering if I might—God forbid—be pregnant, though I hope these aren't the symptoms for that. Anyway, I'm still feeling sick right now... my back and neck are all stiff... probably from lying down too much. And for three days now, I've had this total aversion to food. Even things I usually love... just everything makes me feel nauseous, and I don't even have the energy to eat much. I can barely manage to drink some water :$ I just have absolutely no appetite at all :/
(The night before I started vomiting, I also ate some Spanish Wind quiche—maybe 5 pieces made with eggs—so I don't think I ruined my stomach or got food poisoning :/)

If anyone could offer some advice, I would be so grateful div>

It’s highly probable you’re dealing with some sort of stomach flu—that cold sore on your lip is likely just a byproduct of your immune system taking a hit.
You might have even picked up a bit of food poisoning from something you ate.

I'm going to rename this thread to something a bit more descriptive; keeping it titled "Help" is pretty pointless when there are probably a million posts just like it out there. 😉

Morgan Jones7, if you ate those cookies, it could be salmonella. Did you actually see a doctor yet?

If not, you really need to go and get a stool sample tested.

Thank you guys (:
I was reading up on pregnancy symptoms, and honestly, they look almost identical to food poisoning. It really had me worried. I mean, I’m anxious regardless, but one thing is definitely harder to figure out than the other... I haven't seen a doctor yet, but if things don't start looking better, I'll definitely be heading to the clinic tomorrow. Thanks again. (:

As far as I know, having three or four bouts of diarrhea isn't exactly a classic pregnancy symptom. If I were you, I’d definitely go see a doctor—if this turns out to be Salmonella, you could end up getting everyone else in your house sick too.

Typically, these standard stomach bugs don't stick around for very long—in fact, their "lifespan" usually tops out at maybe three days at most.
Since Salmonella and these viral infections tend to present with such remarkably similar symptoms, I’d suggest that if you aren't feeling better—or if things actually start taking a turn for the worse or just intensifying—you should probably go see a doctor. 😉

I’ve been feeling pretty under the weather for the last four or five days now, and it started off with a fever hovering somewhere between 98 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit, though it seems to have dipped down to about 97 recently. The actual aches and pains have subsided, but I’m left with this strange, bloated sensation, and my digestive system is acting up quite a bit; I’ve been dealing with some diarrhea, though it isn't heavy—just small amounts about three or four times a day. I am 17 years old, and I can't help but wonder if this is just something that will pass on its own or if I should be genuinely concerned that it's dragging on this long. I'm starting to feel a bit anxious about what might be causing this.

Perhaps a stomach virus?
