So, about a week ago, I basically emptied my entire soul into the Toilet... even the water I tried to sip while sprinting toward the bathroom wouldn't stay down.
It was like my body decided to replay that dinner I had 2 or 3 hours prior, except everything ended up looking bright yellow by the end.
After things settled down, I managed to eat an apple and finally crashed.
Tomorrow's plan is mostly broth and tea...
I've slowly started eating normally again, but I’m still getting these occasional dull aches in my stomach or right under my ribs. Plus, there's this weird sensation in my throat—like there's a lump there or I just need to swallow one more time. My digestion seems fine, though... it's been 7 days now.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't the food itself since everyone else ate the exact same thing.

And honestly, there's no way I could be pregnant...
I thought about heading to the doctor, but then I figured maybe my stomach is just totally wrecked from all that vomiting. 🙏 What do you guys think?

I mean, hopefully nobody’s dealing with a wrecked stomach right now😕 🤷 😢

It’s probably just your stomach acting up. I’d say try some Gastall (or whatever you have in the medicine cabinet) and maybe some Pepto-Bismol. Whatever you do, stay away from chocolate for a bit. 🙂 If this keeps dragging on for more than two or three weeks, you’re basically looking at getting some tests done—there isn't much of a choice there. Fingers crossed you don't actually need them, though. Keep me posted. 😉

I've got some Gastall and Pepto-Bismol lying around—the old folks over here go through them like candy because of those ulcers—but I’m worried if I take them, I’ll just mask the symptoms and mess up the diagnosis... That's really what's eating at me. How long should I wait for things to settle down before I actually go see a doctor? It feels kind of silly to make an appointment if it turns out to be nothing.
Don't touch my chocolate😉

I stayed away from it for the first couple of days, which meant I couldn't even have my coffee... But I'm feeling much better now (just one cup a day with some Nescafé and milk). I’ve never been one to overdo it, but my blood pressure runs low, so waking up in the morning is always a bit of a struggle.☕

Look, you aren't getting a real diagnosis without a gastroscopy and an ultrasound. Before you jump to all that, maybe just try managing it yourself for a week first. If things keep repeating, then go see a doctor and get the tests done. As for the chocolate, you should probably just hand that over to me instead.

I don't know, man... I feel like I'm actually turning a corner day by day. Fingers crossed things stay this way for a few more days. If they don't, I’ll probably head in to see the doctor. Hopefully, that's the right call.🤷
Those tests mentioned above... ugh.
A gastroscopy... man, yikes.🤣

Nobody... I can't believe you guys don't know about this, but... give me just two minutes of your time, please!

Hi there! I dealt with the exact same issue you're having about two months ago. For one week, I tried a strict diet consisting only of tea and dry toast. It worked initially, but then the symptoms flared up again three weeks ago. So, I decided to get some testing done. They found H. pylori in my blood, with a concentration three times higher than normal. I was prescribed three different types of antibiotics. I finished the treatment yesterday and nothing seems to have helped, so now I am looking into scheduling a gastroscopy to figure out exactly what is going on.
My advice? Get a gastroscopy done! Skip those little pills meant to soothe the symptoms; they only delay facing the actual problem. 😁 It might also be a good idea to do a breath test for H. pylori, since that is much more reliable than a blood test.
Take a look at this thread: http://forum.us/showthread.php?t=202599
Best wishes, and I hope this helps a little!

You might want to take a pregnancy test just in case 🙂 You never truly know.

My take? Get a gastroscopy. Forget those little pills they give you to dull the symptoms; they just let you ignore the real issue while it lingers. 😁 It might also be worth doing a breath test for H. pylori instead of just relying on blood work, since that's usually more reliable.

Cheers, hope this helps a little.

Maybe just grab a pregnancy test just to be safe 🙂 You never truly know.

I’ve been through the whole gastroscopy ordeal at least 9 times now—yeah, I counted, three sets of three🙂

Never done it myself, but honestly? I don't think I could hack it... my stomach does a literal flip just brushing my teeth.😠

Look, once they shove that tube down your throat, those first five minutes are just pure misery. 😁
The whole thing actually wraps up in under thirty seconds—though when you're in it, it feels like an eternity—and then you still have to wait for your stomach to settle back down...
It keeps triggering that gag reflex, but there’s nothing even there to bring up... it's just... ugh. 😁

Why is everyone so terrified of getting a gastroscopy? I went in for mine recently, and honestly, it wasn't even close to the horror stories I’d heard... It's definitely a little awkward, I'll give you that, but truly nothing to fear...

Exactly. It isn't some traumatic ordeal—it's just incredibly awkward... 🙂

Look, it’s not even about anything being scary... I’m telling you, my real issue is trying to track those back teeth... And being at the dentist (they were messing with one of my molars)... man, it was brutal... my stomach was just constantly turning.🤣

Look, some people handle it fine, others just go numb. For me, the gas caused such intense spasms from the burping that I nearly fell right off the table. I was crying tears of pure reflex, while they were rushing around like maniacs trying to wrap everything up. My throat was sore for two days after...
I wasn't about to put myself through that again, so the next time, I opted for anesthesia. Absolute bliss. I got plenty of sleep, and the whole exam was slow, thorough, and handled with total class.

I forgot—maybe you should get your liver and pancreatic enzymes checked out? Could be a gallbladder issue...

Back about four months ago, my labs showed slightly elevated liver enzymes—just a routine checkup after being on Jasmine birth control for six months—so I quit them immediately. I really need to go back for follow-up testing now.🙄

ALT 44 (10-36)
GGT 60 (9-35)

The doctor told me I didn't need any actual medication, just to stop taking the pills.
