Stuck in grayscale mode forever?

I’ve been using my HP Envy 5000 lately, and I’ve run completely out of color ink. It’s quite a nuisance, really! Now, every single time I attempt to print something, I find myself having to navigate through five or six different menu steps just to force the machine to print in grayscale. Is there any way to simply set it to print in grayscale by default—at least until I can get some more color ink? I would dearly love to avoid this repetitive manual process every time I need a hard copy.

Printer settings, Maintenance, ink cartridge options, black ink only.

My bad, that above bit is just for printing in black and white.
Try this:
Printing preferences, Main, just check the grayscale printing box.
