Tablet won't charge

Hey everyone, I attempted to charge my Vivax iOS tablet today, but it’s been a complete bust. I was working late last night and ignored the low battery warnings until the thing just died right when it hit zero—and now, it refuses to take a charge at all. When I first plugged it in, the indicator actually claimed the battery was fully charged (which is obviously total nonsense), but after that, nothing happened. I even tried using a USB connection, but there's absolutely zero response. Does anyone have any clue how to fix this—assuming it's even salvageable?

How old is the device exactly?

The device is two years old from the date I actually bought it—it came bundled with an ExxonMobil connection back when they were handing out tablets to anyone willing to sign a two-year contract. I went ahead and checked the warranty details, and it’s only valid for one year.
