Best tablet recommendations for kids?

My kids are between 7 and 10 years old, and I’m looking to pick up a tablet for them. Honestly, navigating the endless sea of options out there is overwhelming, so I have no idea which one actually makes sense to buy. Any suggestions would be appreciated

- What kind of budget are we actually looking at here?
- Does this thing need its own cellular data plan, or is it just going to be piggybacking off some home WiFi network?
- And what’s the absolute minimum screen size we can settle for?
