I brought up linguistics because I made a stupid mistake thinking the English language doesn't have the word "folk"—which, honestly, I have no idea 😵 why I thought that.
As for the rudeness thing, that wasn't aimed at you, but at the person who told me I was just "babbling." I don't see the point in fighting or throwing insults. Music is supposed to bring people together, right? 😉
Everything else is fine. The discussion is fair. As long as we keep things civil, I'm all for it. 👍

Regarding the Eagles, early in their career, they played this blend of country and bluegrass, but in their own specific way. In their first hit "Take It Easy," the country influence is definitely there, even if it's not traditional country. It's the same deal with "Lyin' Eyes," "Peaceful Easy Feeling," and "Train Leaves Here This Morning." Even if it isn't classic country, the melodies lean that way, and the guitar work follows suit. Later on, they moved through other styles, eventually hitting "Get Over It," which is a heavy rock track.
Their whole catalog is actually pretty unique—they have this distinct style that sets them apart. That's what I like about them. Their harmonies are spot on, the vocal range is huge, and the guitars sound great.

But hey, that's just my take. People who don't like them probably won't see eye to eye with me on this.

I actually dig the Eagles. But this whole discussion is getting a bit lost—even the sky doesn't know where it's headed... nor do the eagles flying under it.

Anyway, just so we don't spam the thread, a quick word: where I'm from, and with my generation, telling someone they're rambling is basically calling them stupid—so that's how I took it. If I snapped—well, I did, and I honestly don't know what got into me (maybe it was just everything I was doing all day 😢 ). Anyway, no hard feelings, let's just get back to the Eagles (and stuff related to them). 🙂

Man, I could really go for a record right now. Haven't spun my favorite in ages... Witchy Woman... Anyway, I stumbled upon some news article a few years back claiming that nowadays, with all these CD reissues and everything, the best-selling album of all time isn't actually Jacksonov's Thriller anymore, but instead the Greatest Hits Eagles... 😕 Does anyone here actually know anything about that?
