The Hangover Part II is an upcoming 2011 American comedy and the sequel to the 2009 hit The Hangover. Written by Todd Phillips and Scot Armstrong, the film is directed by Phillips and features Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Barth, and Ken Jeong. It is a production by Legendary Pictures. Filming kicked off in October 2010, with a release set for Memorial Day weekend 2011.

Plot:

Following the massive success of "The Hangover," Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis), and Doug (Justin Barth) head to tropical Thailand for Stu's wedding. After that chaotic bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is playing it safe this time, opting for a quiet, low-key pre-wedding brunch instead. But does anything ever actually go according to plan? They say what happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas, but what goes down in Bangkok? It’s almost unimaginable.

Oh my God, not again.

In the first installment, there were maybe a handful of scenes that actually managed to land a laugh... yet the movie has been hyped up so aggressively, as if it were some monumental comedic masterpiece...

Has anyone checked this out yet? If not, hey, at least it'll be fun to see Thailand. 🙂

I watched the first one and I thought it was actually pretty cool 😁
But I didn't really watch the whole thing, just certain parts here and there 😁

Total disaster of a movie!! Seriously. I don’t want to sound like a know-it-all here, but the film is just bad, period. Maybe it’s because there's so much hype surrounding it... a few funny moments and that's about it. Honestly, I haven't run into a single hardcore cinephile who actually loves this stuff without agreeing that it's garbage... meanwhile, my friends absolutely worship it. 🤷
Since the first one was such a massive hit, I guess it's no surprise they're filming The Hangover Part II.

So, tell me—what did you think of the first one?

Personally, I think it's just okay... has a few funny moments, but nothing really special. I don't get why everyone is making such a huge deal out of 🤷

It’s a solid enough movie, though if I were the one calling the shots on it, I think everyone would have walked out of the theater with their pants around their ankles.

I thought the first one was phenomenal, so I know the sequel is going to be great too. Obviously, it’s got the same kind of jokes as the first film. Look, if you actually liked the original, you won't be disappointed here.

This whole Hangover thing is the most forced comedy ever. Everyone acts like they love it, but all the jokes are totally played out—it felt like being told, "Okay, that was a joke, now you have to laugh." When I saw it in theaters two years ago, I honestly couldn't get why people were losing their minds over it. I'm definitely skipping the sequel unless my girlfriend forces me to go. 😠
A Hangover parody would probably be way better than the actual movie itself.

A 90s parody of 90% of these overhyped movies would be better than the originals. 🤷

The core concept behind The Hangover is actually brilliant... and honestly, it’s not really about the premise itself, but rather who is telling the story and how they deliver the punchlines.
It reminds me of those people who start bashing Dane Cook just because he uses certain comedic tropes...
Why does he work? Because he knows how to spin a tale, how to land a joke, and how to take something totally mundane and make it hilarious.
That trio that tore it up in The Hangover and is absolutely wild in the sequel—from the guy playing Stu, Zach Galifianakis, who basically carries the whole movie on his back, all the way to Bradley Cooper...
If you think the movie's idea is weak, then you clearly haven't been drunk enough to genuinely have no clue what happened the night before.
In case anyone wants to come at me with the "you're just mad" argument...
As for the guy suggesting a parody of The Hangover, he's right up there with the crowd that tries too hard to act like they enjoy "intellectual" humor when they're actually clueless...

I only hopped on this thread to see if I was the only person in America who thought this movie was neither good nor funny, and I’m pleasantly surprised to find I’m not alone. 🙂

That said, I can't really be objective since I honestly hate the comedy genre, except for How High and Half Baked, which were the only ones that actually kept me laughing through the whole thing. 🙂

Honestly, this movie was just as hilarious as the first one. Alan absolutely killed me at the end when he tosses that anchor off the speedboat... and man, those credits scenes? Just brutal.

I’ll admit, I was holding out at first. It just didn't seem like my kind of thing, but I eventually gave in because everyone was making such a huge deal about how hilarious it was.

I'm not about to let anyone pull the wool over my eyes twice.

Watched it yesterday—fun enough, I guess, definitely had a few laughs.
If you liked the first one, the sequel will probably hit the mark too.

I honestly don't get people who don't find this funny... it’s highly likely those are the same folks who think "How I Met Your Mother" is the greatest sitcom ever made. 🙄
It’s just frustrating. I realize you shouldn't really argue over comedy, given how subjective tastes are and how many different styles exist, but when something is genuinely well-crafted, you have to give it credit.
I’m not the type to laugh at someone saying "awesome" in a high-pitched voice, like they do in "How I Met Your Mother," for instance... but when a movie is actually solid, features great acting, and people insist on acting like it's garbage, it's just pathetic.
