The Muppets is an upcoming comedy film directed by James Bobin and starring Jason Segel, who also writes (with Nicholas Stoller), co-directs and executive produces. The film started production in September and started filming on October 30. Walt Disney Pictures announced a release date of November 23, 2011.

Man, this is such awesome news!

I remember watching this stuff when I was just a little 7-year-old kid, and now, fast forward 20 years later, here I am at 27 years old still counting down the days until this movie hits theaters! 👍

Honestly, > are exactly what kids actually need, unlike all that mindless junk like >, >, or the >. It makes me so happy knowing that today's kids and the younger generations are finally getting the chance to meet this legendary cast and discover what real, high-quality entertainment actually looks like! 😉
And hey, for those of us who aren't exactly kids anymore, we're definitely going to love the nostalgia trip. 😁

Seriously though, those guys are absolutely wild—I used to die laughing every time they were on screen, and honestly, Fozzie Bear is hands down my favorite character. 🙏

I've missed out on quite a few Muppet movie productions myself.
Nah, I just watched the movie recently. The Muppet Christmas Carol Back in 1992, we got what was supposedly the first Muppets movie released after Jim Henson passed away. It was directed by his son, Brian Henson.



This movie really helped me get a better handle on the characters and their personalities. My favorite part has to be those two grumpy old guys, Waldorf and Statler—their sarcasm is honestly top-tier. 🙂

I'm actually pretty stoked for the new Muppets movie! 🙂

Even at 35, I can barely remember them. I think they were airing somewhere until the mid-80s, definitely not past 1990. They were actually pretty great, and the trading cards were a nice touch. 🥳 Plus, they always seemed to have the biggest showbiz stars guest starring. I guess I'll probably go watch them.

I’ve always been a huge fan of The Muppets. Honestly, it's pretty wild how much Jim Henson and his studio achieved just through puppetry. I grew up watching The Muppet Show, The Storyteller, and basically every movie coming out of his studio. Later on, he really started pushing the envelope with animatronics, which you can clearly see in the '86 film Labyrinth and then in that late '90s sci-fi series Farscape—which his son Brian worked on. By then, the animatronics had leveled up significantly, blending with CGI to build these incredible, imaginative worlds. I never would have pegged Jason Segel as someone to jump into The Muppets, but hey, here we are. After the Farscape era, the Jim Henson Company kind of went quiet, so maybe this will finally introduce a new generation of kids to The Muppets and the fun side of puppetry.

I am seriously buzzing about this, honestly. I’m just sitting here hoping they can actually pull off that magic and transport me right back to my childhood, full of all those laughs and good times.
