The Estevez family movie... man... π
Martin Sheen and his grandson Taylor Estevez actually made the trek out to Santiago de Compostela... their son and father, Emilio Estevez, was the one who dreamed up this whole idea to film a pilgrimage...
In the story, Martin plays a father who finds out his son (Emilio) passed away right at the start of the journey... he travels all the way from the States over to France to bring him home, but then he decides to finish the pilgrimage himselfβdoing it in his son's honor...
Honestly, this movie is such a breath of fresh airβitβs been a long time since Iβve seen anything quite like it... kind of like "Lord of the Rings," if you think about it, but without the Dark Lord, without the rings, without all the mindless action or special effects or fantasy stuff... just a few people with a dusty road under their feet and a real sense of purpose in their hearts...
Itβs been ages since Iβve seen Martin Sheen in such a genuinely great role...
