I’d really like to understand why my thread on the LES forums was nuked yesterdayβ€”the one titled "How many times have you actually had sex!???" πŸ™‚

It makes zero sense to me why it was shut down, especially since looking at those first 35 posts, people seemed to be enjoying the discussion. I didn't bother checking back later, and now I find the whole thing is just gone. What a joke.

If the moderators are going to delete a thread, the least they could do is send a quick DM to the person who started it. Instead, I'm left wandering around like an idiot trying to figure out what happened, having to hunt down reasons and ask questions just to get some clarity.

Thanks

Unfortunately, the mods are dealing with an absolute surge in thread volume lately, and they just don't have the bandwidth to walk everyone through why a post gets nukedβ€”even when it feels totally arbitrary or just doesn't fit the vibe of a specific subforum.
Just my two cents, but the title of this thread screams "middle schooler's first forum post" to me.

They could have just moved the thread instead.
Beyond that, they should have shut it down immediately rather than waiting twenty-plus hoursβ€”especially since people were actually engaging and giving positive feedback once the conversation picked up.

Honestly, it’s pretty pathetic to just wipe a thread like that without even giving the author a clue as to why.
But I guess it doesn't matter, because they pump out ten identical new threads every single day and those seem to stay up just fine.

I’m not trying to start a fight with anyone, but I am completely disillusioned with how this works...

My apologies for the delay in getting back to you!

I agree that there's no need to bring this thread back; it just doesn't really fit the vibe of this subforum anymore.
You might have better luck starting a fresh discussion elsewhere. πŸ™‚

So that’s the grand conclusion you all reached? Unbelievable.
Honestly, this forum is a joke; you might as well just go jump in a lake.

The only thing that seems to matter here is someone posting ten different threads every single day about how their boyfriend dumped them and begging for advice on how to get him back.πŸ™

Yeah. We've concluded that we don't need some exhaustive encyclopedia of the topic.

Fine, have it your way. I'm done talking about it.

My only request is this: if you're going to insist on playing moderator, don't do such a half-baked job of it. Either commit to the role properly or don't bother at all, because there needs to be a single, consistent standard applied to everyone.

If you actually want to be productive, go ahead and clean up those half-finished threads floating around...

That's all I have to say.

Later.

Everyone’s situation is a bit different, really, unless we’re opening up a massive general discussion thread. I mean, if you look at our moderation logs, you'll see just how many threads we have to clear out on a daily basis.

Your specific thread was taken down because it flagged as spam, plain and simple.

Oh, give me a break....
There are countless threads where some troll shows up; one specific post might be out of line, but it’s incredibly rare for an entire thread to get nuked, yet here we are...

My thread got wiped because apparently, it was bothering one or maybe two moderators, though I haven't the slightest clue why. Honestly, it doesn't even matter. I already stated that if a topic is stupid, feel free to delete it.

But it still stung, seeing the whole thing deleted rather than just locked, especially since people actually enjoyed it. From what I could see, there wasn't any personal attacking going on, and to top it off, I didn't receive a single word explaining the decision.

Meanwhile, you can find plenty of mindless, moronic threads on LES that stay up without question. Those are often packed with insults, condescension, and sheer stupidity, yet they remain untouched.....

So, my apologies if I offended a moderator. Truly, that wasn't the goal; I just wanted us all to have a bit of fun and unwind during this heatwave with a lighthearted little discussion.......

peace
