Thread Index Opening

Since you guys aren't ever going to bring back that specific search function—and let's be honest, half the people here don't even know how to use Google properly—I’m suggesting that we start opening thread indexes in all the subforums where duplicate topics are a headache. We're talking about sections like movies, TV shows, musicians...

There’s a real possibility that all it takes is dropping a link to an index that automatically generates itself in alphabetical order. I don't know the exact technical steps to pull it off, and the forum I saw this on is completely dead now. It was running on vBulletin 3 just like this one, so the architecture should be identical. It probably just requires a little bit of tinkering with the settings. If this were implemented, the moderators wouldn't have any extra work to do other than creating the thread and dropping the link inside...
You would just head over to this archive and set the links for individual sections to display all threads alphabetically. For some reason, those links aren't working for me right now; they just throw a "404 Not Found" error. For example, this would be the link to the topic list for the "Movies" section.

I'm totally on board with that suggestion—back when I was working in tourism for nine years before I moved on three months ago, we used an alphabetical list of topics. I actually handled all of that myself—merging duplicate threads, sorting everything, and keeping it updated constantly. It’s no trouble at all, and honestly, it makes things so much easier for everyone involved—especially for the folks on the forum...

Look, let’s be real here—nothing ever actually gets updated or improved on this forum. It’s been years of the exact same cycle. Just look at that legendary search engine tool, for crying out loud! Thousands of users have asked about it, and every single time the response is the same canned line: "we're working on it." Seriously? Don't hold your breath. It reminds me of those shady little corner shops or dive bars that go belly up; they always slap that "Closed for Renovations" sign on the door, which is really just code for "we're broke and out of business." That’s exactly what's happening here. Nothing is being done, nothing *will* be done, the threads are getting lonelier by the day, and people are posting less and less. It’s all just a slow slide toward the lights going out for good.
