I recently picked up some black winter ankle boots, but they’re giving me a bit of trouble—they're pinching my toes just enough to be annoying. They feel like they've been broken in a little, but they aren't quite there yet. I know I probably should have gone up a size, but I have this irrational fear of having "too much room" in my shoes. People keep telling me to just size up, but I'm stubborn about it... 🙂So, please, I'm asking for some advice.

Shoemaker... he should probably put them in a mold to stretch them out a bit. It's on 5th Avenue. Great shoemaker 👍

There’s actually a skin softening spray available as well... you can pick one up at the local transportation hub 😬

Honestly, I just pull out my thickest pair of socks and then struggle like crazy just to squeeze my foot into a shoe or a boot, and once I'm in, I just lounge around the house like that. It actually works great because they stretch out perfectly over time.... I don't go out and buy a smaller size or anything, it's just that my right foot is a bit more muscular than the left, so I run into this issue pretty often...

Oh, how precious 😍

That's exactly how little muscle-bound toddlers act—when their boots are too small, they practically set out on a world tour just to stomp them flat 🙂 😘

I have a little bit of an old-school tip—kind of like one of those "grandma's remedies"—but I guess it actually works. If you have leather shoes that are pinching or feeling too tight, and they're genuine leather, you can try filling a plastic bag with water and leaving it in the freezer overnight. The ice from the bag should stretch them out a bit, and then you just wipe them down and apply some moisturizer in the morning, and hopefully, they'll be fine. 👍 😁

Oh, please, I don't have those kinds of issues... my shoe size is a 7 😁 although once I was actually a 6, lol

I usually just dampen my boots a little, pop them on, and walk around for a few hours... they'll stretch out eventually (it's like an old cowboy trick).
I actually sprayed mine with some stretching spray I picked up at Walgreens, put them on, and they stretched out perfectly.

Henry Miller2, what’s the actual name and look of that spray? I have a feeling it would be just the thing for me... and if you happen to recall the price, let me know... thanks 😉

Back when I was getting married, of course, I couldn't find any white lace stockings in my actual size.
Since there wasn't nearly as much variety back then as there is today, I suppose I had to get creative; my aunts actually suggested that I just take some plain cotton socks and soak them in some alkohol or maybe some bourbon, put them on, and just walk around the house like that, and honestly, I guess it actually worked.

Damn, I just hit up a few Walgreens and none of them have that spray anymore?!?!?!!? Sadly, I can't give you a price because I bought it ages ago, but if I recall, it was around $10.
If you're desperate, just spray some water or even a little vodka on your shoes and wear them until they stretch out a bit. My boots were pretty pricey, though, so I'm terrified of experimenting with vodka—I don't want to end up crying later🙄 , damn!

I always just buy a size up so nothing pinches or feels too tight; I don't deal with those issues. Honestly, everything usually feels too small on me anyway.😢

I heard it’s actually a good idea to rub a little fabric softener on your shoes before putting them on, so I’m going to give that a shot today.🙂
Using drugstore rubbing alcohol works okay too, but after that, my shoes and boots end up bleeding color all over my socks.

Honestly, you might be better off just handing those boots over to me. I'm certain they won't be too small (size 7-8).

Then you can just go out and pick yourself a nice new pair!😬

See? That proves they're fine!😬

Man, I know exactly how it feels when they squeeze your pinky toe. It’s so irritating while you're walking..

So, I went ahead and grabbed a pair of shoes in a size 7 even though I’m usually a size 7.5 or even an 8 if I’m being honest 😬 😬 😬
The whole thing is because they were literally the last ones left in stock, and oh my gosh, I was just so obsessed with them! Plus, considering how nice the quality feels, the price was such a steal, I couldn't pass them up 😬

I’ve heard all sorts of weird DIY hacks floating around online, like soaking them in milk, stuffing them with newspaper and tossing them in the freezer, or maybe some crazy combo of both, you know how it goes 😁

Does anyone out there have any actual advice on how to STRETCH shoes? Because honestly, I think the length might actually be fine if I can just somehow manage to cram my foot into them in the first place 😳 Just to give you some context, they’re basically like ballet flats—totally flat soles—but instead of having that rounded toe, they have a pointed toe 😳
