Touchpad issues

Hey there.
I just picked up a new Dell laptop, and out of nowhere today, the touchpad just completely died on me. The cursor doesn't even show up on the screen, though if I plug in an external mouse via USB, everything works fine—it’s just the touch interface that’s totally unresponsive...
Any idea what might be causing this mess?

Check if you accidentally disabled it; try hitting Fn plus whatever function key it uses.
See if it’s actually showing up in the Product Manager.

I'm digging through the settings, looking under Mouse and Touchpad, but there's nothing there—it just shows standard mouse options.

Type "Device Manager" into your Start menu and see what shows up under Pointing devices.

All I see under mice and other pointing devices is just "HID-compliant mouse"

It is entirely possible that you do not need to hold the Fn key at all. A significant number of modern laptops feature dedicated function keys along the top row for controlling brightness, volume, and other utilities, where the standard F1 through F12 functions are only activated if one chooses to press the Fn key simultaneously.

Therefore, I would suggest attempting to press the F1-F12 keys directly without involving the Fn key.

The issue just vanished on its own... I fired up my laptop the next day and everything was working perfectly fine

I ran into this exact same issue myself and even posted about it on the forums. It’s one of those silly little things—you get a brand-new laptop, you're still getting used to the layout, and before you know it, you've accidentally disabled the trackpad...
The main thing is that the problem is solved.😉

Hey there, first off, I wanted to mention that my mouse software is fully up to date and running smoothly. All my touchpad settings are toggled on as well. I'm running Windows 10 and I was wondering how exactly I can trigger this specific command on my touchpad:
press and hold left mouse and press and hold right mouse to lift

I really need to get this working for a game.
