A sequel might actually work since Piccolo is still alive.
But honestly, I was just happy to finally sit down and watch a movie, only to be met with such absolute garbage.

I watched the movie, and honestly, it was alright. I get why people are hating on it—it’s a massive departure from the animated series, which is clearly why it didn't land for a lot of fans. But if you go in knowing what it is, it's a decent watch. It's got some humor and action, so it isn't totally lacking, though it could definitely use a tighter script.
The only thing that bothered me was how short it felt; 80 minutes just isn't enough.
Goku flew on a cloud in the first Dragon Ball, but he learned how to actually fly during the Z series because he wasn't experienced enough as a kid.
If they did make a sequel, they could do the Saiyan saga.
That would be incredible to see. Seeing Vegeta, Frieza, Nappa, Raditz (Gokuov brother), and the rest of the crew on the big screen with much larger scale battles would be awesome.
What makes you think Piccolo is still alive?

I mean, there’s literally a scene where some random old lady is nursing him back to health right after the credits roll... Look, the movie itself is incredible shit, but I seriously don't get why they hand these projects over to directors who obviously haven't even watched a single episode. It’s like their whole strategy is just, "Hey, let's just cast some hot young actors, add some spiky hair to make it look cool and awesome, and the movie will be a massive hit." Honestly, I have no clue how the creator of Dragon Ball even allowed this kind of garbage to happen...

Ah... okay, I just saw that last scene. I didn't even realize there was more stuff after the credits rolled.
From what I can gather, the guy who wrote the Dragon Ball manga ended up pretty disappointed with what the movie turned into.

I don't know if everyone has caught wind of this yet, but Dragon Ball Kai is actually out now, and I have to say, I’m finding myself quite enjoying it so far. Currently, there are about four episodes available, though you should keep in mind that it's only featuring the original Japanese audio at this stage—as for the visuals, they haven't really gone through a massive overhaul; it feels more like a slightly polished version of the classic footage we all know and love. 🙂 If you happen to be looking for a way to check it out for yourself, here is the link I've been using: http://www.watch-dragonball.com/ Happy watching! 🙂

What a disaster... just a completely warped retelling, zero action, and a plot that goes absolutely nowhere... plus the acting? Don't even get me started. That guy playing Yamcha was just painful to watch—so cringey. And those hair strands? Honestly, how do you even call that styling? It looked pathetic.

Look, everything was clearly laid out in the link from my previous post, so why does nobody ever actually read anything around here? Seriously, why?!
Dragon Ball Kai is an anime series that is an HD remaster and recut of Dragon Ball Z done for its 20th Anniversary.
They chopped out all those filler episodes to bring it down to about 100 episodes, bumped the aspect ratio up to 16:9, and even fixed the dialogue so it actually stays true to the manga...

So, all this editing and tweaking is basically just an attempt to make the show match the manga...
For a 20th anniversary, they really could have gone bigger—like launching an entirely new series—but whatever, I guess this will do...

Honestly, though? I think trying to launch a whole new series would be overkill. Just look at what happened with GT...
