Trash PDF moderation issues — again

It’s been two and a half months since I first opened this thread (and subsequently saw it shut down) due to the complete lack of moderation regarding Garbage—so here I am, reopening it, because absolutely nothing has changed. Or has it!? 🤔 I’d go as far as to say things have actually gotten worse.
Beyond the fact that the current moderators aren't even doing their jobs—they don't even acknowledge our reports on indecent posts. 🙂

Surprise me and don't just lock the thread immediately. Or better yet, don't do what happened last time—drop a few red warnings and then vanish into thin air again. 🙄

I’ll just add my two cents: things have shifted massively since they brought on Tyndall, and then added Daniel Ward87 to "keep watch" right after.
It’s honestly unprecedented. The whole place is practically bursting at the seams with moderation.
Maybe you guys should add someone else to the oversight crew; I’m sure that would actually make a difference this time.

I honestly don't get why the current non-moderators won't just step down and hand the reins to someone who actually has the bandwidth. I get that they're busy—really, I do—but then who's picking up the slack? What's the incentive here? Are they getting free points in their DM, a moderator discount at Billy, or maybe a summer vacation in San Diego? 😕 😳

Look, the goal is obviously to get rid of the garbage. I don't see what else it could be.🤷

Besides, it’s incredibly rare for a huge group of users on a single forum to beg for help for months on end... and still not get it. What's the actual issue here?😕

No offense, but I haven't seen you actually moderating—or anyone else, for that matter.

Lately, it feels like every other post in the top three threads is either: a) completely irrelevant to the trash being discussed, b) total off-topic nonsense, or c) straight-up breaking the rules.

Bringing up being "overwhelmed" and claiming to "moderate whenever I get the chance" argumentation is—given the blatant existence of people who are capable, willing, and actually give a damn (people who simply aren't being offered the reins)—nothing short of a circus.

I can only reiterate what I’ve already stated regarding the insulting reality that the administration stubbornly refuses to hand over moderation duties to anyone from the group of people who truly care about Trash. This was most evident when, following the sheer laziness of the trolls, they stumbled upon a "miracle solution" by installing Tyndall and insisting that everything would suddenly be just peachy and wonderful—as if that somehow ends the debate:

This kind of behavior makes it seem as though the administration views unselected forum members as pathetic losers (to put it bluntly) who are either incapable of moderating or unworthy of the position. A logical reason for such an intense reluctance to bring on new people—something more substantial than "it doesn't concern you, just say no, scatter into smaller groups, let's play hide-and-seek!"—would go a long way in fixing this ugly impression.

Since we’re talking about moderation, there’s this massive image sitting on the Facebook thread from last night. If nobody else bothered, I went ahead and reported it pretty much right after it went up. Though, honestly, I doubt the server even picked up the report 😉

By the way, you can moderate by actually looking through the threads, not just waiting for someone to flag something. There’s only four of you on the team, and there are maybe six active threads total.

I’d like to make one more small correction here and point out that it’s been at least a year since that first thread about moderating the garbage, and honestly, nothing has improved—if anything, things have actually gotten worse.
I genuinely don't understand what kind of ego trip you kids are on, clinging to these moderator roles if you have zero intention of actually doing anything. Is this some weird prestige thing, or do you guys seriously get discounts on DM products just for holding the title?

On the local community boards, moderators change every single week, yet you lot cling to the trash like your very lives depend on being those little moderator figures over there.

This whole situation is unacceptable on so many levels. What bugs me most is how they treat us—like we're just some bottom-of-the-barrel garbage that doesn't even deserve a simple answer to a basic question.
We’ve been sitting around waiting for months. We spent two and a half months just staying quiet, praying for some kind of miracle🙄, and even then, nothing works. Then I take a look at the trashed community board, and I see moderators being swapped out on a monthly, sometimes even weekly basis, all in this desperate attempt to fix things.

And yet, we haven't even received a single response.🙂

I'm re-posting a section from my previous thread about Garbage here because, honestly, my take hasn't changed one bit—if anything, I’m just feeling a little more resigned about the state of this whole sub-forum. I used to spend so much time hanging out here, and while I still love dropping by Garbage, the vibe and the actual content just aren't what they used to be. A huge part of the soul of this place vanished when certain people left—people who actually *got* the essence of garbage and made this forum better. Now, it feels like there's constant rule-breaking and endless clutter, paired with a noticeable lack of consistent moderation.

Look, I don't have anything against the current moderators personally, but someone really needs to step up and manage the Garbage sub-forum properly. We, as regular users, do our part by reporting posts that break the rules, but when we report something and it goes ignored for a week... well, you start to wonder—what's even the point?

Also, I truly believe Garbage deserves moderators who actually care about and understand the community—people like Simple Filla, who used to be such an active part of the garbage scene. Other sub-forums have mods who are actually present, and it feels like we should too. Whether that means the current mods start participating more in the threads and spending actual time here, or whether we bring in a regular user who lives and breathes this stuff, I don't really care. Just get it done.

Please, don't take this personally. This isn't about me having a grudge or disliking any specific moderator; it's strictly about the quality and direction of the forum itself.
