I've never been particularly fond of those underwater horror flicks myself

They’re honestly starting to get quite tedious with this approach. It’s nothing but recycled themes and exhausted storylines—it's as if they've completely run out of original ideas.

Kristen Stewart and her "acting"...🙄

It definitely has that old-school vibe.
Reminds me of those 80s classics—you know, stuff like Deepstar 6, Leviathan, or Abyss.
It’s clearly following a pretty formulaic setup, but honestly, that's usually fine—it generally delivers exactly what the trailer promises.
We've all seen this kind of thing before, sure, but there's nothing wrong with revisiting the genre every now and then.
Whether it actually turns out to be any good really comes down to two things: how they design the monster, and whether they actually bother to get the technical details right—like the diving mechanics, basic science, tech, and all that good stuff.

I caught the trailer yesterday and my heart skipped a beat. I have a huge soft spot for those mystery horror flicks featuring monsters. I am definitely going to see this. It can't possibly be worse than 😳Alien: Covenant

It really reminded me of those movies too. Back in the late 80s and early 90s, those underwater films were something else. Deepstar 6 and Leviathan actually came out in the same year, 1989.

It's a total disaster, and people will be too terrified to even step into the ocean, which would completely wreck our tourist season 😲.
By then, everyone will have forgotten all about it anyway 😁.

And don't forget "Deep Rising" and "Deep Blue Sea" too. 😁

To feels like a total rip-off of The Meg from 2018. It’s basically the exact same thing, just swapping out the shark for some monsters instead.

I just wanted to point out that under Film, there are two identical threads for this movie.

It probably won't be a massive spectacle, but I think it will be quite enjoyable to watch... much like Meg, though I suppose I am hoping for a more intense horror plot!

The trailer for the new horror flick "Underwater," produced by 20th Century Studios, just dropped and it looks terrifying. Directed by William Eubank—the same guy who did "The Signal"—it follows a crew of deep-sea researchers trying to stay alive after an earthquake absolutely wrecks their underwater base.

We’ve got Kristen Stewart leading the pack as Nora Prica, playing this tough, gritty survivor fighting off whatever monsters are lurking in the abyss. The rest of the crew features Vincent Cassel, Jessica Henwick, Mamoudou Athie, T. J. Miller, and Gunner Wright.

From what I saw in the trailer, the story looks intense, but the visuals are what really stand out. The effects look super realistic and creepy, giving you a legit sense of how claustrophobic and scary life under the ocean actually is.

Looks like it's hitting theaters on January 10, 2020.

It was a pretty solid movie honestly, though I guess since you listed all those other films in your previous post, I was kind of expecting a bit more of that specific vibe from them.
I have to say, Kirsten looks really good with short hair, it totally works for her.😁
And those suits they're wearing remind me so much of Starcraft.👍

I have to agree, she really pulls it off👍

The movie itself is pretty much just your run-of-the-mill flick, perfect if you just want something to kill an afternoon

I’m just not feeling this movie.
Honestly, just like with Megan, the trailer had me thinking we were actually in for something fun. Not quite what I was expecting.
