Why is this thread being stalled? (Not that I’m complaining—you guys earned a break.) Is politics just the main event now?

If you can't keep up with the pace, honestly, maybe you should find another board to hang out on. Personally, I actually love how the energy shifted from the whole COVID-19 situation over to political stuff. It keeps things moving.
I feel like I learned so much during that whole pandemic era. So why shut down the conversation now? I was just scrolling through those old threads the other day—really eye-opening stuff.

On the other hand—in their desperate attempt to undermine those views—you get a breeding ground for characters whose arrogance is inversely proportional to their actual intelligence. They peddle hollow conspiracy theories while essentially promoting a brand of immoral social Darwinism under the guise of "logic." Take, for instance, the quoted user making claims about Italy inflating death tolls just to squeeze more aid out of the European Union. If that isn't blatant trolling, I don't know what is. Some tried to argue my point more constructively by focusing on moderation criteria, but since that fell on deaf ears, I’m just going to bow out. I won't just report this post; I’m quoting it here because I want everyone to see what kind of behavior is tolerated, while people who simply relay "uncomfortable" news from mainstream outlets are hit with 300 points for "excessive trolling" almost instantly. Maybe we should implement a two-week rotation policy so the moderators can actually take a break? On the Politics subreddit, there's a huge team listed; I don't understand why only two people are handling everything here.
