Why is this happening?

Well, it's because you can't actually add former mods or admins to your block list—Reddit just flags them as part of the staff group, and we all know you can't ignore those folks. So, could you guys maybe clean things up a bit? It would really help us clear the clutter from our feeds.

Since our admin team occasionally drops some pretty vital updates here that everyone really needs to stay on top of, we aren't planning on adding an ignore feature for them—at least not anytime soon.
