Varicose vein surgery!

So, I've got this vein surgery coming up on my right leg in just about a week, and I'm starting to get a little worked up about it!

I'll be heading over to the Mayo Clinic in Chicago, so I was really wondering if anyone here has been through something similar.

Like, what kind of anesthesia do they usually use? How long am I actually stuck in the hospital? And does it... you know... hurt? Just all that stuff.

Any info at all would be super helpful!

I had vein surgery at the Mayo Clinic almost two years ago.
The whole thing took about three hours under general anesthesia, and I stayed in the hospital for five days.
Not trying to scare you off, but it wasn't exactly a walk in the park.
