Vomiting blood

Does anyone have any idea what might cause this? Tonight, after having a few beers (I’m only mentioning the alcohol because I want to figure out if it was triggered by drinking so I can avoid a repeat if I quit), my stomach started hurting pretty badly. I wasn't sure what to do, so I thought maybe I should just try to throw up, and boy, was I in for a surprise😲 right after the first expected wave of beer. During the second round, blood started coming up—dark red blood—and it was all over the toilet bowl. I bolted straight home immediately (I even left more than half a glass unfinished🤣), ignored all the advice telling me to head to the ER😳, and now it seems like everything is fine. My stomach pain actually subsided relatively quickly after the vomiting stopped

I’m going to take a break from drinking for a while, though I honestly don't get how this could be caused by having 6 to 8 beers in an evening; it’s not like I was slamming moonshine or anything🙄

Thoughts?😕 (I don't really feel like searching online, but I would definitely head to the doctor if this happens again)

That was my first thought too, but I’ve honestly never had stomach issues before—just a little bit of throat irritation, nothing more.

though I’ll admit my lifestyle isn't exactly healthy, between what I eat and all the stress.

I had the same thought—maybe it wasn't me, maybe the beer was just bad.🤣

Either way, I'm staying away from it until the US Dollar stabilizes. If the urge hits me even then, then I'll start worrying.

Stop playing around and go see a doctor. My grandma went through the exact same thing where she was vomiting blood, and it turned out she bled out from a ruptured stomach ulcer. Honestly, it was a miracle she didn't die. She was already in hypovolemic shock by then

You can totally get a gastroscopy done under anesthesia. I actually went through a colonoscopy myself recently, and honestly? It was a dream. You don't remember a single thing about it.

What should my next steps be? Should I call 911 right now, head to the Emergency Room on my own tonight, or just wait and see my primary care physician tomorrow?

Get to the ER immediately. There are serious conditions, like internal bleeding in the abdominal cavity, that are life-threatening and require urgent medical intervention. Don't waste any time—go find help at a hospital right now!

Like Angela Wright said, this isn't something you play around with. Get to the ER. It could be a ruptured ulcer or something just as nasty. Whatever it is, see a doctor right now before you bleed out. Don't mess with this.
