Hey there!
What kind of pricing are we looking at over at Whole Foods? To be honest, my mom is convinced that sticking with them is the safest bet since the desserts they're serving at our venue are also sourced directly from their bakery... 🤷 Though, if I’m being completely candid, I haven't even decided which bakery I want to start my search with yet.😕
All I really have right now is a handful of ideas regarding the aesthetic I'm aiming for with the cake design.😍

She didn't give me a straight answer on how the pricing actually works... which makes sense, I suppose, since everything depends on the flavor profile, the number of tiers, the level of decoration and all that jazz...
When she gave me a quote, she was looking at this exact style in the photo, but she suggested more budget-friendly flavors—things like chocolate or hazelnut... whereas the premium options—like Black Forest or those specialty seasonal blends—are quite a bit higher. Plus, those roses on this specific cake aren't cheap to pull off, so that bumps up the price, though honestly, I’m really drawn to them because of the roses 😍 even if I'm not totally sold on this specific shade of brown around the edges... I'd probably go for something more champagne-colored, but if they insist on this exact tone, then fine, I guess I'll just deal with it 🙂
Anyway, now that I'm heading over to Whole Foods, I might swing by there too and see if I can find something a bit more eye-catching and easier on the wallet :-)

Same here. Honestly, I'm not even buying my own cake—you have no idea how much of a headache that is. Sure, $1000 it saves money, but seeing all those options makes me want to tell my godmother to just skip the dessert entirely. My maid of honor usually handles it for me anyway.

I found myself in a similar situation last year while attending a wedding with my partner—he was actually serving as the best man. I had ordered this heart-shaped cake, but instead of those sharp, stylized edges you usually see, it had these soft, rounded contours. It looked like an anatomically accurate heart; honestly, I’ve never seen anything quite like it. It was covered in marzipan and topped with two large doves right in the center. To make matters more complicated, the thing was massive, easily enough to feed 100 people, if not more. When the newlyweds finally laid eyes on it, they actually complained about being served our cake because they were holding out for their own traditional wedding cake at midnight. In the end, though, they decided to keep ours since their planned dessert turned out to be far too small.

I stopped by the local bakery yesterday afternoon, but honestly, it was a total bust... there was this incredibly rude employee there, just completely unpleasant, really👎 and as far as the cake goes, they don't even carry anything remotely like the one pictured above—they only have those basic two-tier ones or just standard square cuts😕 It seems a bit odd to me, if I'm being honest, but whatever...

I suppose I should ask... what on earth are you people doing charging such ridiculous prices for a single pound of cookies?

Well, I suppose I’m doing alright enough, all things considered... my mom’s former colleague actually reached out to me asking for $13 along with some eggs and walnuts... I already have my own walnuts growing, and I guess I can just find some eggs somewhere if I really need to...

I think I know how she bakes her cakes, anyway; I’ve bought from her before, so...

I’m paying about 55 bucks per unit, $20 though I can't be entirely certain—I know I had two different bakeries on my shortlist with similar pricing, so after we sampled a few of their pastries, we finally pulled the trigger on one. I can't recall the specific name, all I know is it's located over in Kansas City because my dad tracked it down for us, but the name escapes me right now 😁... anyway, the big thing is they hold a proper license (which is an absolute must for my restaurant), and even though I'm still paying $33 for delivery to the venue, it isn't breaking the bank. Honestly, when you consider that prices in Washington, D.C. start at $23 and go up from there, this is actually quite reasonable—especially since I need to order between 60 and 70kg, so the savings really add up

We’ll probably grab about 20 pounds of dry pastries, then fill up on the cream-filled stuff, ice cream cakes, and whatever else... honestly, I'm pretty stoked 😍

I honestly have no clue how many cookies I should be grabbing... they're keeping that information from me... I suppose my mother and father are conspiring against me...

I’m definitely not going overboard on the cookies, since my guests are already bringing plenty of their own...

Honestly, I’m just stressing out because I have zero clue which cake to pick. I’ve been scrolling through a million photos and now I’m totally paralyzed by indecision. Help me, I'm a mess

I already know what kind of cake I want. Something classic American with white frosting, three or four tiers, to celebrate my favorite couple from the States...
