Wedding cakes and desserts

Hey everyone, I wanted to give a quick update—my engagement party went off without a hitch, and honestly, everything was just wonderful... except for the cake. I ended up paying an absolute fortune for what I thought would be this custom, dream centerpiece, but it didn't even come close to what I had envisioned. It turns out that using such a high-end, famous pastry chef was a total mistake; I feel like I got completely ripped off. I really wouldn't normally call someone out like this publicly, but I’d suggest you steer clear if you happen to be looking for a baker. If anyone is interested, feel free to shoot me a DM and I can tell you exactly who I'm talking about—it was a shop in the Tampa Bay area. I'd just hate for anyone else to deal with the same disappointment I did.

After searching and searching and searching, I finally decided to just go with the simplest option—a classic white cake decorated with delicate vine patterns on a simple pedestal stand. 😉

Totally! It’s almost as if it was custom-made specifically for that space. 🙂 I really need to remind my wife to add a few decorative touches to it, and then it’ll be great. 😍

Absolutely flawless! Everything! The pastries, which aren't just your run-of-the-mill stuff, they're special, and that cake? Perfection. Everyone was completely blown away. Seriously, I cannot recommend them enough!

We are actually thinking about ordering our cake from them too!!!! They were the first thing that popped into my head yesterday. 👍

Does anyone know what their policy is on those small finger foods and bite-sized pastries? We only need treats for about 13 people, so I'm wondering if they allow orders for such a small group?

Also, what is the situation with Vincek regarding those same types of small pastries for a smaller crowd?

I am so incredibly grateful for ANY suggestions or advice for catering to such a tiny group, because the restaurant turned us down and now I'm starting to panic... 🙄🙄

Look, let's just get one thing straight right out of the gate—I am, by my own admission, incredibly demanding. I don't sugarcoat things. If I want something done a certain way, I expect it to be done that way. Period. There, I said it. Some people might call it being "difficult," but I prefer to think of it as having standards. High ones. Very high ones. So, if you're looking for someone who’s just going to nod along and agree with everything you say, you've definitely come to the wrong place. I'm not here to play nice just for the sake of politeness. I have expectations!😛Well, that’s exactly how it goes with that question! Exactly!
All I can say is, we absolutely cleaned them out! We took everything—the cake, all the pastries, the whole spread—it was all bundled right into our set menu price, and let me tell you, people were obsessed! Just incredible. Honestly? It was beyond good. Absolutely divine!
I need some honest recommendations! Seriously! Give me your best stuff! 😍

The restaurant is gifting us a cake from there—we'll probably grab some pastries too.
Anyone had any recent runs there? They actually improved or just gone downhill?

stormyraven46 ( or anyone else who might have an answer ); what kind of base does Charlotte use for those cakes? Is there a specific platter or something similar involved? I really wouldn't want to be stuck transferring a cake from a scrap piece of cardboard onto a more elegant serving tray 🙄
