You guys always post such killer photos, so I’ve basically been using this thread as my main source of inspiration 🙂 The whole dessert situation is actually sorted now because my mom and my aunt—who’s basically the family pro since she’s handling the baking for an upcoming wedding—are going to take over the cakes and sweets. They’re being a little bit grumpy about the idea of doing cupcakes, though, mostly just because they haven't tackled those before 😁 They aren't exactly sold on the idea of making the cupcakes the main wedding cake either, since they think it’s a bit unconventional. I’m still weighing my options, though; if we decide against that style for the main cake, we can always just go with a massive cupcake tower instead.

I think I've finally found my go-to spot for sweets. Magnolia Bakery. My mom and I stopped by yesterday and picked up a few treats—they're honestly incredible! We got 1 kg $28, and they were kind enough to arrange everything on trays, wrap them in cellophane, and deliver them right to the hotel 🙂

So this was our cake, made by Monica 😍

The idea came from the forum, I just grabbed an image from Google and ordered those little figures off eBay 😁

Check out these little cakes we made, also handcrafted by Monica! 😁
They were honestly so delicious, and my guests absolutely loved them—I think it was because they’d never seen anything quite like them before! 😉

You guys really made my day. Did you run into much trouble with Monica?
Is there still any $4.00 cake left?

Quick question: has anyone actually tried Magnolia Bakery over by Yosemite? Thanks! 🙂

the cake was seriously amazing, and I didn't have any problems at all. the price was $4.00 since I locked it in earlier this year. I guess I'm not sure if she changed anything.

I used to grab those little treats for about $3.25/each, though I have a feeling they've probably bumped up their prices by now...
Honestly, I never had any issues with them at all... I guess anyone else run into trouble?

I've actually had their pastries and a whole cake before.
The cake was particularly delicious, to be honest.😍
It had a chocolate base, a vanilla middle layer with some kind of fruit—I can't quite recall which one—and then a top layer made of chocolate and strawberries. 🙂

Before summer rolled around, I decided to try out some treats from a local bakery in Seattle, and I have to say, they were absolutely delicious
everyone at the office was raving about them, too
so, if anyone here is currently staring down the barrel of wedding cake selection and needs a recommendation, there's your answer
I don't recall the exact pricing, though

I guess I had some treats there that were pretty awesome, though the cake wasn't really my thing. It was just like, layers and layers of sponge with barely any frosting... kind of much too much bread, maybe? But hey, you can probably pick what you like, anyway Smile is okay 👍

Oh man, that looks incredible. I'm actually on a diet right now, and seeing this makes me want to just dive right in and grab one of those treats! 😍😍😍

Could you tell me what flavors they are? We’re thinking about doing something similar, but I’m honestly stuck on what to suggest. Should we go with chocolate?? Or maybe something with fruit??
I haven't tried anything quite like this before, so I have no idea—are they more on the firm side, or are they soft and fluffy? 🤷

Trust me, every single time I scroll through those photos, my mouth starts watering... I would honestly give anything just to have one more bite of that cake 😁
it was seriously incredible—sooo light, creamy, and just totally perfect!! You actually get to pick which parfait flavor you want, too. We went with a mix of one-third chocolate, one-third chocolate-vanilla, and one-third chocolate-orange, and I swear I couldn't decide which one was my favorite because you really can't go wrong with any of them... and I guess those were just three of the options, there are even more flavors to choose from. 😍

Has anyone grabbed a cake from Majestic lately? I'm looking at their menu and it seems pretty basic... just those two types of parfait, chocolate and vanilla.

It might not be bad, but honestly, isn't this selection a bit sparse and old-fashioned? Especially nowadays when there are so many sophisticated cakes out there. I mean, even most decent hotels offer a much wider variety than this.🤷

I saw a similar cake featuring little suitcases on someone's Facebook feed, and I immediately decided that's exactly what I want for my wedding cake. It’ll be the perfect symbol for our life together... 🙂

The cake looks absolutely stunning, but—no offense intended—that topper on top looks a bit like an old leather belt or something similar.
Everything else is perfect!
