Oh, please... by the end of the night, nobody’s even going to care about the snacks...😍 Honestly, we’ll probably just pack some leftovers to go anyway! All things considered, the dessert situation won't be nearly as overpriced as I feared—I was bracing myself for a total rip-off...😍 Let's just hope the final bill actually turns out to be a pleasant surprise for once...😁

Scott Reed12 said:Booking desserts is a bit of a moving target... personally, I put my deposit down three months out, though when I was visiting local bakeries, they told me three weeks is plenty of notice. Then there is Monica—she follows a different "philosophy" entirely. She’s pregnant, so she refuses to overwork herself—she’ll only take on a handful of orders regardless of her actual staff capacity (her words, not mine)... but I digress.
As for the quantities... our baker suggested roughly 10 ounces per person, which works out to about 6 pounds for a hundred people. She suggested bumping that up to 15 ounces per person if we wanted enough for everyone to take some home, but even that is subjective—it really depends on how large your dessert boxes are.

5 oz to share (tin included or not) 😉
A fancy box might mean you're only getting 5 oz of actual cookies—maybe just 4 or 5 pieces total. Honestly? Better to skip the box and just give the 5 oz of treats itself. A full pound would be the sweet spot, though 8 or 9 oz would still make a decent little gift.

...the local bakery owner was likely referring to the box size—smaller box, less weight....
I completely agree; gifting a mere handful of cookies feels a bit hollow—so we've decided to pivot to something else entirely. That said, a full pound is simply out of our price range.
Given that we're looking at roughly 150 guests, we'd essentially need an additional 110 pounds of pastries just to cover the gifting side of things.😲

I mean, you’re really gifting a little box to the whole family or the couple—it's not like you're handing out 12 ounces per person... 🤷

It’s just a small box per couple, family, or solo traveler—you'll figure out the math once you see the guest list.
We didn't bother with scales; we just eyeballed everything into the containers.

Maybe I'm off base here (sorry Mayo 🙂), but has anyone come across those white ribbed pastry boxes? And I don't mean wavy ribbing—I mean vertical ridges (😕 hopefully that makes sense).

Honestly, I've only ever heard good things about them, though I haven't personally had the chance to grab any yet.
I did reach out to them for a quote—apparently, a 1kg variety box goes for $27.

I was over at Relax in Zanesville recently, and man, their creamy pastries are absolutely incredible... if you're looking for a 1kg mix, they have them for $27

And you know what? Yeah—I completely miscalculated my math there.🙂

It's too late now; we already pulled the trigger on something else to give to the guests.🙂

Anyone here tried Babić sweets? I’m looking for some honest feedback—what’s the consensus on their quality versus price when it comes to pastries and wedding cakes?

Thanks, Chris Lopez4... I mean, if people are actually giving them praise, they probably aren't that bad. I ended up ordering from them myself.

Anyone know where I can pick up something like this? Doesn't have to be an exact match, just looking for the vibe..🙂

Check out Good Partner, Dora Services, or maybe Old Pier... or even The Happy Shop... nothing else is really coming to mind right now..

Google any of them, they all have online shops.. if you can't find it anywhere, let me know and I'll whip one up for you using edible sugar paste...

I might be able to stop by and try them when the wedding happens 😉 so that sounds pretty good for $13-kg 😍

Yesterday, we received some sample treats from a small town in rural US near Annapolis! I must say, we are incredibly pleased. The cookies are beautifully presented, sliced into perfect bite-sized pieces, and truly delicious—you can't even taste the margarine or excess sugar. They aren't overly sweet at all; they're simply wonderful! The total weight came to $20. I am quite satisfied indeed!
