Hey ladies,
I figured I’d jump in here too 😁

casualmoose14 said:Honestly, I’m being driven absolutely crazy by all the unsolicited advice and "horror stories" people love to share... It’s always the same thing: "Oh, once you have a baby, your life is over. There's no more sleep, there's no more freedom, there's nothing left except the child..." It’s like they’re implying that my entire existence—and everyone else’s around me—just ceases to matter the moment a baby arrives. GOOD GRIEF!!... As if we're welcoming some sort of cosmic miracle that demands total self-annihilation!

And don't even get me started on the parents who patronizingly tell me, "just enjoy it while you can before the baby gets here," because frankly, hearing them talk like that makes me want to snatch their kids away right then and there.

Brian Williams4 said:I saw something hilarious yesterday. I happened to overhear this pregnant woman chatting with a friend of hers. The friend was rubbing her belly, and then out of nowhere, the pregnant lady reaches over and starts petting her own chest. The friend just stood there completely stunned. 🤣 The woman tells her, "That’s actually how it feels when you rub my stomach. I'm not a fan." Total boss move. 😁

Hahaha, that is pure gold!

I guess I finally fell for it too... honestly, my favorite people are always those who manage to stay one step ahead of you.
1. The eternal engaged couples—when is it actually happening?
Whenever you finally decide to tie the knot... oh, suddenly there’s this, or that...

2. The first-time parents—when do you think it'll be your turn?
"Oh, I'm pregnant..." then immediately it turns into: once the baby arrives, we'll need this, or that, and how are you going to afford all this if you aren't working, blah blah blah.

3. The second-time parents—the kid is growing up, it's time, don't you want another?
So I'm waiting for my second, and they go, "...well, the little one might get jealous, and what if the next one isn't the same gender?"

I am just so incredibly exhausted by these people... it's always some kind of subtle threat.

That is spot on! 🙂

Hello, everyone!
So, there’s a new one in the club... I’m currently 14 weeks plus five days along, though the unsolicited advice seems to have arrived well ahead of schedule.

I’ve been finding it particularly amusing to deal with my sister-in-law. She’s six years younger than me and had her first baby about a year ago, but she’s certainly decided she possesses all the wisdom in the world lately.
The other day, she gave me this rather judgmental look and asked if I was planning on coloring my hair during the pregnancy (I have highlights). I just told her I’d get around to it when the time is right. Honestly, she spent her entire pregnancy smoking, which I personally find much worse, but I suppose I shouldn't try to lecture anyone. It wouldn't be my place, I guess.

Then there’s my mother, who seems determined to map every single one of my moves onto her own experience. It’s a constant stream of "that’s how I did it" or "this is how it was for me." And strangely enough, we're practically twins in this—we’re the same age, both having our first child, our due dates are incredibly close, and even our initial weight entries in the prenatal records were nearly identical.🙂

On top of that, I’ve been listening to endless lectures about how I can't touch mayo, how I need to eat for two, and how I should probably be sitting down at all times... oh, and apparently, we have to get rid of the cats. Just in case.
Ugh... and I’m only just getting started.🙂

My advice? Just nod along and say, "Yeah, sure, whatever..."
Then just go ahead and do what you want anyway. 😁

Yeah, I'm managing okay for the moment 🙂 I suppose I just have a bit of a longer fuse by nature, so we'll see 😉

Why shouldn't I eat mayo? This is news to me.

I'm currently navigating my second pregnancy, so I really don't have the patience for baseless advice or myths. That said, my husband tends to make comments whenever I reach for certain foods; he’s still dwelling on the fact that I gained 21 pounds during my first pregnancy. It isn't that I actually *want* to see the scale climb that much again, but his constant nitpicking is getting old. Honestly, all he does is remind me of a situation I'd rather just move past.

This thing's bugging me too. Honestly, I've got no clue what I'd even say to him.
I mean, I know he’s thinking about me, the baby, our future, whatever... but still. 😢

Honestly, that’s one of those weird urban legends I’ve encountered before... I suppose I never quite grasped why people actually believe it, though I usually just find myself nodding along and eating my sandwich anyway.😁

It’s not some crazy conspiracy theory; they're probably just talking about homemade mayo because you're dealing with raw eggs, which brings up that whole Salmonella risk. If you buy the store-bought stuff, you don't have to sweat it. 🙂

Mine does the same thing sometimes. He’ll make a little comment, but nothing sticks quite like when he says: there’s a difference between being pregnant and just being overweight.🙂

But honestly, those moments are rare enough...☕

Well, I suppose I’d have to respond to a comment like that, mostly because this extra weight I’m carrying around is becoming a genuine source of frustration for me.

It kind of reminds me of the weight I put on during my first pregnancy, but honestly, when my hormones are acting up like this, even the smallest things can get under my skin. 😬

Of course it bothers you! 😉 Ask him how he’d handle having so many restrictions for nine months straight. I once asked my husband to try giving up beer alone for nine months just to see how he'd do 🤣
Let alone cutting out certain foods, skipping workouts, avoiding all alcohol, and constant doctor appointments... yeah, right.

Talk it out with him and come up with a game plan. My guy was constantly making me donuts because I had cravings early on 😍 He's super sweet and tries to give me everything I want, but if he keeps that up, I'm going to turn into a total couch potato 🤣 So we made a deal—no heavy dinners, just fruit, and letting me have lighter lunches instead. He even cut back on sweets and stopped bringing beer home to help me out. It makes things way easier now since there's only healthy stuff in my fridge.
Now he just brings me organic fruit and veggies 🤣

Honestly, men generally lack even a rudimentary understanding of what true self-denial or sacrifice actually entails. Though, I suppose I can't find much room to criticize mine—likely because he knows I’d absolutely tear him apart if he dared to utter a single word regarding my diet or weight. However, whenever he attempts those overly sentimental, pathetic little glances during discussions about childbirth, I make it quite clear that he should prepare himself. If he intends to pull any of those dramatic stunts once we're at the hospital, he can expect to be tossed out headfirst. I certainly won't have him demanding special attention while I'm actually dealing with the pain.

Mine doesn't cook or bake at all, so he isn't really able to cater to my cravings. 🤣
He took me to McDonald's yesterday, and now I’m officially done with him for the next six months. 😬
The scale at the gym showed that my weight hasn't been creeping up, so I gave myself the green light to indulge.

🙂🙂🙂

So, I had this little scene unfold at my local CVS this morning.
Basically, right at the exit, I—carrying a metric ton of stuff, including two heavy bags, a tote, and an umbrella, plus having a bit of a belly myself—bumped right into him (this massive guy, probably pushing 260 lbs, mid-forties, just holding a single beer) and the absolute nerve of the guy just standing there waiting for me to hold the door open for him!!!😲😲😲

I mean, honestly, where is the civility heading these days???🙂

And then, of course, he had the audacity to say thanks at the end.🙂

So you're telling me you actually held it for him? If it were me, he'd be waiting forever... what, did you learn that polite nonsense in some fancy suburb?
I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I'm still waiting for someone to actually let me go first in a line... pretty sure I'll deliver before that ever happens. 😁

Yeeeeeees.🙂😵🙂🙂

I guess I just didn't really know what to do about the juice situation, if that makes any sense.🤦

So, I was waiting in line at the DMV the other day to sort out some paperwork. Naturally, the waiting room was packed, and there was only one single chair left, which was taken by this elderly man. He looked like he’d seen better days, honestly. I’m just standing there, waiting my turn, when nobody even thinks to move. Then, the woman behind the counter looks up, sees me and the old guy, and starts losing it on everyone else. She’s yelling about how people need to learn how to let pregnant women and seniors go first, telling us to step up to the window immediately. I ended up helping the gentleman up, and we both limped our way to the front together. 😁
The rest of them just rolled their eyes and huffed.
It’s happened to me a few times where people have actually pushed me out of line...
I don't mind standing if I have to, but when people get rude and entitled, I'm going to stand my ground.
