Even though I’m strictly vegetarian, I make it a point never to lecture anyone about their diet.
mm is a total meat-lover,😁 and honestly, I don't see why he should give me a hard time about my choices, nor should I bother him about his. He didn't even say a word to me when I found out I was pregnant.
I live by a pretty simple rule: live your life and let everyone else live theirs.

It’s funny how once you become pregnant, suddenly you're treated like some sort of public utility—everyone feels entitled to weigh in with their unsolicited opinions.
I’m actually dreading the moment someone might get too handsy and reach for MY belly; they really won't be happy with my reaction.
I’ve even toyed with the idea of designing a T-shirt for expectant moms featuring a big "stop" hand gesture and the words "Private Property."😛

By the way, I’ve been taking magnesium tablets from Nature Valley to help with uterine contractions, and they’ve been great.

LOL, I couldn't help but laugh at this—it’s like you suddenly become a public figure or something the second you find out you're pregnant! 😂

Regarding diet and meat, everyone chooses their own path these days; personally, I've always enjoyed meat (in moderation), especially when paired with some veggies. But during this pregnancy, neither meat nor fish sounds good to me. Everything smells off, and my stomach just won't settle after eating it. The only way I can manage is if I completely camouflage it in a dish so I don't even realize I'm eating it. And now for the part that's actually relevant to the topic... since my family knows about the pregnancy, they won't stop lecturing me. It's always, "YOU HAVE TO EAT FISH, AT LEAST!" For the 500th time, I try to explain that I'm simply eating and drinking what my body can actually handle; if my system rejects it, I'm not forcing it down until I actually start craving it. They just can't seem to wrap their heads around that...

It honestly drives me up the wall when my mother-in-law starts lecturing me with all that "you need to rest" and "don't overdo it" nonsense, acting like the baby needs me to be a total couch potato or whatever...
I mean, newsflash: I’m the one living in this body, so I know damn well when I actually need a break.
Plus, I feel way better when I'm actually moving around. I’m definitely not planning on rotting in bed all day just because I'm pregnant—everything is going perfectly fine so far, anyway.
For crying out loud, I'm not some fragile little snowflake.

🙂 Just the other day, I got hit with these texts from my family within five minutes:
"Aren't you scared to drive yet? (It's only been eight weeks, hello?)"
"Are you even working? Shouldn't you be on medical leave?"
"Don't overdo it! (I was just opening a jar!)"

All so my teenage cousin could act superior and tell everyone, "Guys, she's pregnant, not disabled!"
(As if anyone actually cared...)

Right now, I am seriously getting triggered by that whole: "So, when are you finally having the baby?"
Me: "Not yet."
That Irritating person: "Well, so when is it happening?"

I mean, honestly, just give me a break...
The thing is, I was dealing with a threat of premature labor and had to be on strict bed rest, and now everyone is acting all shocked and asking why I haven't given birth yet that the baby isn't in immediate danger anymore... because apparently, I'm the one pulling all the strings here and deciding when to deliver, right? Like, hello? When people start hitting me with that "so when?" crap, I swear I'm about to lose my mind 😠

It’s honestly getting so frustrating because everyone around me keeps nitpicking just because my husband and I aren't sharing the baby's gender yet.
And then, if I happen to use "she" or "he" when talking about how happy we are, they immediately jump in with that sarcastic, "Oh, so you *do* know, you just won't tell us! So it's a girl/boy..." 🙄
Which leads to me having to explain myself over and over again... 🤦

Apparently, the best solution is to just refer to my future child as "it" or "this thing" so there's no confusion. No, I *definitely* know the sex of my baby, it's just that my husband and I are plotting some grand conspiracy against our entire circle of friends and family, and we're just waiting for the right moment to reveal our master plan... 🤣

I even had people suggest that my OB-GYN should just write the gender on a piece of paper, fold it up so I can't see it, and then let me show it to these busybodies... 😂 And of course, that "brilliant" idea came directly from those same people. 🤣

It’s honestly pathetic how people just barge into places where they don't belong. I absolutely hate it.

It really bugs me how much weight they put on all of this... At first, my family acted so close, but they pretty quickly respected our decision and stopped meddling... But friends or acquaintances? 😕
In the end, it feels like the less close you are to someone, the more they actually nag you 🤷...

Oh, I forgot to mention the extra weirdness (like 😲) when I tell people I’m not dying to know the baby's gender, but rather that I'm just bursting with curiosity to finally meet this little human... To look at them for the first time, and cuddle, and kiss, and just love them 😍😍😍

And regarding what you mentioned over on the thread with madness and John Wells93, I completely agree... Luckily, I didn't have to deal with those kinds of issues myself...

Since we’re already on the topic of gender, I honestly can’t deal with how people react when they see me wearing girlie clothes... oh my god, it drives me absolutely nuts. I get these ridiculous comments like, "Oh, don't worry, you'll find a guy eventually," or even worse, "Don't trust them, maybe you'll actually end up with a boyfriend one day." 😠 wtf??!!

Clumsiness just drives me absolutely insane! I’m constantly dropping stuff—it’s like my hands have a mind of their own. Yesterday, half the groceries slid right out of the cabinet; thank God the olive oil bottles didn't shatter everywhere. And don't even get me started on how much effort it takes just to bend over and pick things up! 🙂 Honestly, at this rate, I’m just going to stop picking things up off the floor entirely and let my husband deal with the mess once he walks through the door... 😢

It drives me absolutely insane every single time I visit my mother-in-law (and now her sister was there too) and they start with the "Oh my gosh, you can totally tell! Your chest is huge... you've really gained weight... your hips are getting so wide..." routine. EVERY SINGLE DAMN TIME!!! Yeah, I have, because I'm PREGNANT!!! Like, give me a break... and then it’s always, "Don't get too big, honey, you'll regret it later..." Honestly, I'm starting to have nightmares about visiting them. Do they seriously have to comment on the same things every time?
I usually just play along and say, "Yeah, it's pretty obvious now," but they don't get the hint... I honestly don't care about the pounds (my doctor says I'm doing fine, and according to the charts, I'm actually under my target weight), but they've made me feel so self-conscious that I don't even want to go over anymore. I end up feeling like some giant piece of furniture and it just messes with my head... and it's only them. No one else ever brings this stuff up. 😠😠😠😠
So, I've decided: next time they start, I'm telling them if they don't have anything nice to say, I'm not coming back. We'll see how that goes...😠😠

It honestly drives me up the wall when everyone suddenly acts like an expert on my life!
When it came to the gender, we actually wanted to be surprised at first. We were really looking forward to that big reveal, but since we’re expecting twins, we decided to skip the suspense and just find out.😁
The thing is, my extended family seems to have a mental calendar of all my doctor's appointments (!). I’ll mention a date in passing, and I swear they probably jot it down in a planner somewhere.🤣 Then, like clockwork, everyone starts blowing up my phone, calling left and right to ask if we've heard anything yet. Seriously, guys—take a chill pill! Give us some breathing room; we promise we’ll let you know once we actually know.
Oh, and get this: someone actually had the nerve to ask if we even intended to tell them once we found out. (Just like that other post mentioned!) No, of course not—we're planning to lock the results in a high-security vault at Fort Knox and hire a private security detail to make sure nobody gets anywhere near the paperwork.🙄

Olivia Miller2, you should totally just tell them everything next time. You know, play it cool. Just say something like, "Oh my goodness, you two look so much more rested since the last time we saw you, it's wonderful!" It sounds like a lovely compliment, but deep down, you're totally shutting them down.

Maybe you just ran into one of those families (mine included) where you aren't considered pretty or attractive unless you're carrying at least 175 pounds. Honestly, it wasn't until I put on 30 pounds that my own people actually thought I looked decent. 🙄 And whether that's healthy or not? Doesn't matter. That's just how a woman is supposed to look according to them. 🙄

God, if I actually listened to myself, I'd realize my husband already thinks I'm breaking things on purpose just to give him a hard time.😂

There are plenty of us out there.🙄 I've lost count of how many times my dear mother-in-law has pointed out that I only weighed 100 pounds after having my baby.🙄
Now, she probably weighs 330.
It seems people think the most important question in the world is how much weight you've gained. The other day, I called my office regarding some paperwork, and the very first thing they asked was: "Have you gotten fat?" Apparently, whether the baby is healthy and doing well is completely irrelevant compared to whether I've gained weight.

My mom called me earlier and I ended up venting to her about everything. She was totally on my side, saying how rude people are being lately. Like, pregnancy is beautiful, but when you're getting close to the end, you’re naturally changing and you can be pretty sensitive about how you look... so pointing out that a pregnant woman has gained weight—especially when there's absolutely no reason to bring it up—is just straight-up classless. And the crazy part? My own mom didn't say a single word about it to me... though I know I probably overreacted, because she's just not the type to speak up... man, I love my parents.
The worst part is, the weight was never even an issue for me. I didn't give it a second thought until these people started chirping in my ear, and now I'm actually starting to stress about it.

Ugh, honestly, dealing with all this weight gain is just 😲
At first, it was constant questions from everyone—like, "Oh my god, how much have you gained?" or "Wow, you're starting to look a little heavy..." 😲
But now, with barely a month left until I give birth, I’ve only put on about 13 pounds, and it’s all concentrated right in my stomach—nowhere else, seriously—and suddenly those assholes have stopped commenting entirely. They just straight-up ignore me 🙄 Or, what I find absolutely hilarious, is how they scan me from head to toe, searching for some flaw to point out, yet they don't say a single word 😛
I mean, hello? A little compliment wouldn't kill anyone.

And my mother-in-law... man, I really screwed myself over there. I genuinely thought I hit the jackpot with a totally cool MIL, but then... 😱 Everything is fine, she actually likes me, but she's started meddling in my relationship with my husband. I can already see where this is heading because if she tries to interfere one more time, I'm not taking it lying down, and when I finally speak my mind, things are going to get messy 😢 If she starts trying to dictate how I raise my kid... I don't even want to think about it right now.

Honestly, I think it is completely out of line to bring up weight when talking to pregnant women. I usually make it a point never to comment on anyone's size because I know how sensitive that can be for most people, let alone someone going through pregnancy

I felt like everyone was losing their minds over me because I lost quite a bit of weight early on due to morning sickness. They acted like I was doing it on purpose—as if I were choosing to have an eating disorder! Hello, people? I’m just pregnant! It's a lose-lose situation, really...

If there is actually a medical issue with my weight, I trust my doctor to handle it and step in accordingly.

Now, I’ve started using a little defense mechanism: whenever someone makes a snide remark or gets something wrong about my health, I just jokingly threaten them with gestational diabetes.🤣

Weight is a sore spot for everyone,
and I seriously don't get what kind of BRAINLESS people feel the need to comment on people gaining weight in general, much less pregnant women.

I never tell anyone they've put on weight or whatever; I always just say "No way, you haven't," or "It doesn't even show." The only time I ever comment is when someone loses weight, because that's a compliment for anyone.

I’m at a loss myself. It honestly feels like some people just wake up looking for trouble. My dad had this guy approach him the other day and just bluntly remark, "Wow, you've really aged." Seriously, folks—if you don't have anything kind to contribute to the conversation, maybe just stay quiet!🙄
I mean, what is the expected response to comments like that anyway?
