Linda Ward312 said:So, I’m at this big family get-together today... and of course, the comments start flying immediately. "Wow, you got a little thick, didn't you?" "How are you doing, fatty?" Seriously, is there really nothing better to say to a pregnant woman? And here I was, feeling myself, all dressed up and wearing my favorite 😉....
Meanwhile, everyone else looks like they just rolled out of bed—total messes with overgrown hair, and honestly, half of them look like they haven't seen a dentist in years 😁,....
I swear, I was about two seconds away from telling the whole lot of them to just go jump in a lake! :2up:
To top it all off, they were whining about when we were finally leaving, after I’d already spent two hours stuck on some hard wooden bench surrounded by a cloud of smoke from all the smokers 😠

What a bunch of losers 🤦
Good for you, micek—I wouldn't have stuck around that long if I were you. As soon as that first cigarette lit up, I'd be out of there. People can think whatever they want about me; I don't give a damn what they think.

Honestly, my mom is starting to get on my nerves. We talk almost every single day, and the script never changes. It always kicks off with the same question—"Are you feeling okay? Is anything hurting?" And then it just spirals into this endless loop of nonsensical advice. Don't walk too much, stay out of the draft, dress warmer, use a blanket, put on shoes, eat more fruit, eat more bread, eat some meat, cook yourself a real meal, don't lift anything heavy... 🙄
🙄🙄 In those moments, I low-key just want to hear the sound of a phone receiver hitting someone's soft skull. My husband usually moves out of the room, just to be safe.

Bandera, it's like I'm listening to my own mother; she calls me every day and repeats the exact same script over and over again...

For instance, Guns was the very first band I ever listened to, and seeing them live has been a lifelong dream. Then, naturally, a few days before the concert, I start bleeding, end up staying home, and my husband goes without me. 😢 I spent the entire evening crying my eyes out, ordered a pizza and some pancakes, and basically just ate my feelings while weeping. At the same time, it would have been ridiculous for him to skip it and waste the tickets; I was actually the one who told him to go, but... well, I wanted to be there too. *Sniff.*
I trust that eventually, this won't feel like such a big deal, but in that moment, it really stung. It felt a lot like what happened last Friday when I wrote that other post.

Ultimately, I just want to say that even though this baby was deeply wanted (it really was!) and I am genuinely happy about it—I still have interests and a life outside of being a mother and everything revolving around a newborn. Because of those things, I’m being sidelined quite a bit, and I know that’s going to continue for a while. Sometimes I don't even think twice about it, but other times, it really gets to me.

signing off...
I don't want to sound like the bad guy, making it seem like he "isn't allowed" out just because I'm staying in too... but yeah, here I am, staying home with some pizza and pancakes (which honestly isn't even a bad way to spend an evening 🤣 )
but it's still not quite the same.

If it helps at all, I totally get where you're coming from 🙂

Hang in there, let me comfort you... for me, 🙏Guns🙏 🙏are the real deal, but these guys are basically just Axl rose & his backup band 😉
. I heard they were actually great though... I almost went myself... but then I realized what the point was... plus, Axl was never really my type, and now he looks... well, rough
. So I didn't skip out as a protest...
Man, I was a little bummed because I saw Alice in Chains this summer, and I gotta say, the new lead singer sounded like Lenny Kravitz... which was a total NO for me. It's just not Layne
.
And getting off topic here:
After venting about my mother-in-law constantly asking about my weight, Michael Hernandez50 explained to her really nicely that she needs to stop questioning me about it...
We head over to visit them this weekend and everything is fine... until the very last minute when she drops this: "Can you even fit back into your old jeans?" 🙄 Which I obviously answered quite pointedly... like, why couldn't you have kept those comments to yourself during the first few weeks?? (She was asking if I could wear them, not if I could button them or if they were comfortable 😉)

Thanks, dear. It’s actually quite comforting to know I’m not alone in this.🙂 Most of my friends are miles away from even considering having a baby right now, which just makes the whole situation feel even more isolating.

I'm well aware of all that, and I agree with everything you said, but in the heat of the moment, those logical points didn't provide much comfort.

My grandmother called me on Saturday 🙂

My wife gave me $500 as a wedding gift, and now she’s calling me to grill me about who I told regarding the money
It’s not even that she minds me telling people, per se; she actually said, "Go ahead and tell everyone how much I gave you! Let them all know I was generous enough to give you a gift!" 🤦
First, she asked what I needed for the apartment, acting like she was going to buy it for me, so I mentioned a high-end comforter for our king-sized bed. Ever since she handed over the cash, she's been constantly checking in to see if I bought the blanket yet—apparently, I need to actually purchase it just so I have some sort of keepsake from her. 🤦
Then, she started asking if I have a baby swaddle sack—the kind you wrap a newborn in—and when I told her I did, she went, "Well, what are you going to use to wrap the baby when you're leaving the hospital? It'll be easier for you." 🙂
But my plan is to just use a regular blanket to swaddle the baby, because we have a bit of a drive from the hospital back home, 12 miles and I don't really feel like holding a baby in a specialized sack the entire time.
Usually, my husband drives that route pretty fast, but I honestly don't think he'll dare to speed once we have our precious little passenger in the car. 😍

My mother-in-law is driving me absolutely insane

So I’m trying to head out for a walk, right? And I’m low-key rushing because I don't want my nephew to spot me—he lives with us, and he was busy doing homework with her. Suddenly, she’s all like, "Oh, you want to take [Nephew] for a walk with you too?" Like, excuse me?! WTF?!
Just leave me alone! I want to go by myself, throw my headphones on, and just power-walk in peace without having to deal with a kid the whole damn time. If I actually wanted to take him, I would have asked.
Does she not get that I'm pregnant and just need some freaking solitude?
And then I’m stuck having to make up these stupid, lame excuses just so I don't have to walk with him.

She used to piss me off like this all the time back in the day. She’d be like, "Hey, tell him to come over to our place after school so we can finish his homework together." Seriously? He isn't my kid! And let me tell you, that little guy knows exactly how to push my buttons. He never listens to a word I say. So, if I don't want to deal with the headache of him, fine—his own mom and dad can sit there and help him with his homework. It's not my fault they had four kids and now they can't find the time to keep up.

It's the same thing with them being over here constantly. She basically babysits them, and even my husband already told her that if she wants to watch them while they're at work, she should just go over to their house instead. When the parents are working, it's pure chaos here. All four of them are screaming their heads off by 4 PM, nobody listens, and then three of them wander off somewhere when the oldest one isn't around. But the second he walks through the door? Total mayhem and fighting.
It sucks too, because they're here from early morning, so if I want to grab a kiwi for breakfast, I can't, because I don't have like five of them sitting in the fridge.
It's just ridiculous when the parents are actually home and they still send all four kids over to our place. Like, hold on a second...
Having kids is easy; actually raising them is the hard part.
But the thing that gets me most is stuff like this: We’ll be having a quiet weekend at home—just me, my husband, and his mom—with the kids not around. Then Sunday night rolls around, someone comes over to visit us, and suddenly the kids show up looking like they just crawled out of a dumpster in torn clothes and dirt everywhere. Like, do their parents even care?! My husband is losing his mind over it.

Look, I love them. I really do. I'm always buying them stuff, baking cookies, making pancakes... but now that I'm pregnant, every single disobedient kid is just grating on my nerves.
I don't mind them visiting, but there has to be some level of respect and order.

Also, I absolutely hate how my mother-in-law treats me like I'm some little child. I know she means well, I really do. For example, we were out for dinner on Saturday and she was freezing. She kept asking me, "Are you cold?" and I said, "No, I'm fine," but she asked me three or four more times! Then today she’s like, "You probably didn't even feel the cold because you were too cold yourself." Like, WTF? I'm 24, not five. I know how to take care of myself. If my own mom were here, she would have shut that down immediately, but I just felt too awkward to say anything.

It really grinds my gears when people ask stuff like—"So, how much weight did you put on?"—or worse, those "hey, fatty, what's up?" greetings. 😕😕People are just losing it.

Especially since I’ve got women addressing me like that who gained like 55 pounds during their pregnancy, while I’m sitting here at 34 weeks and haven't even hit the 20-pound mark yet.🤷

I mean, why have that many kids if you aren't going to look after them properly?
I don't get why you're constantly being handed their responsibilities. Is it just so they can have peace and quiet so they can make another one, only to end up stuck taking care of that one too?

I just don't understand certain people!

As for my grandmother, honestly, talking to her a little bit is almost a relief because it gives my blood pressure a little spike. 🤣
She didn't find out about my pregnancy or my wedding from me. She actually told me that my husband better make sure to notify her the moment I'm admitted to the hospital so she doesn't find out about the birth from someone else.
When I told my husband, he just rolled his eyes because he can't even wrap his head around her behavior.
I totally feel for you. 😁

Oh, please—you're such a baby, aren't you? Honestly. 😁
My mother-in-law pulls the exact same stunt. She’ll come to me asking for advice or help with something—so, naturally, I go out of my way to explain the whole process for thirty minutes—only for her to ignore everything I said and do it her own way anyway. It turns out she wasn't actually looking for input; she was just asking to hear herself talk. So, what happens next? I stop engaging, I give her the cold shoulder, and then suddenly *I'm* the one who's in the wrong because she's offended. Fine. Go ahead and be offended. I'll keep being "polite" while I walk away. That's how that goes. 🤣

Steven Barrett6, those people of yours totally give me "Malcolm in the Middle" vibes 😁
Honestly, we’ve got my husband's aunt hanging around our place almost every single day—and that's not even counting the rest of the relatives, kids, and grandkids who basically live here, though I really hope they eventually get the hint and back off 😁. She’s always pestering us and asking way too many questions; I actually think she goes around town bragging about how much money she gives us 😲😲 😠. Plus, she shows up with a nasty cold, sniffing all over the place, and leaves piles of bruised fruit on my counter 🙄... man, I just hit my breaking point, so I finally told my husband I've had enough of her!
So now, we just quietly lock ourselves in 😁, and if she actually realizes someone is home, he’ll crack the door just enough to lie and say I'm visiting my parents or just catching up on sleep 😁
You should try something like that. Just fake being sick... tell her the little girls can't come over because you don't want them catching whatever you have 😉

Look, all I know is once I have this kid, I am done with the constant chaos in my house. Period. I’ll just tell Michael Barrett11 to deal with the mess and call it a day. Done.
I just want some damn peace and quiet. That’s it. I need my baby to have some calm for once, and honestly? I need to be able to actually catch a break and get away for a bit without everything falling apart. Simple as that.
I just want to raise my kid my own way without all these people breathing down my neck or trying to take them away from me. Seriously, if they keep acting like this, I’m actually going to lose it.
I’m just sitting here praying to God that my mother-in-law doesn't try to pull that "he should help out" nonsense with my oldest kid. Like, give me a break! As if I don't have enough on my plate already—now I'll be stuck babysitting him too? And oh yeah, sure, he’ll magically show up right during the holidays exactly when I'm in labor. Unbelievable. 😠
Look, if I don't make this crystal clear, Michael Barrett11 is gonna end up dropping me off at my folks' place. And honestly? Once he’s off the clock, I need him to come grab me. I just need to get out there and have some actual peace and quiet for once. My neighbor over there is my daughter-in-law, and she is a total lifesaver—basically a pro babysitter. I won't be lacking any help whatsoever once I'm settled in.

Look, I don't give a damn about what your grandma thinks. I know things are rough for you right now, especially if she’s out there "massaging" you like that—honestly, it sounds like a total nightmare for both you and Michael Barrett11.
Your mom will definitely give her a heads-up, don't sweat it. She won't be tripping.
Look, you and Michael Barrett11 are gonna have way more important things to deal with than this. You’ll be swamped with actual responsibilities and real problems. Seriously.

Look, they aren't dumping them on me. It's my mother-in-law doing all this. And she’s over here trying to play games, telling me the oldest kid needs to head straight to my place right after school lets out instead of doing anything else. She's always pushing this stuff on me. 😠
And even if they weren't sick, it wouldn't matter because these kids are constantly catching something, and honestly, it drives me absolutely insane. Like, what are they thinking coming over to my place when I'm pregnant? Where is the common sense?! I’m terrified I’m going to catch some nasty bug from them, and I am seriously losing my mind over it.
One time I almost lost it—the oldest one (he's in second grade already, he should have at least an ounce of sense by now) was sick and hanging out at our place, eating with us, sitting right next to me, just coughing all over me. My skin was literally crawling. All I needed was for him to pass some bacteria onto me.
Once this baby is born, I am not letting any of them anywhere near the room where the baby will be if they can't stop sniffing and wheezing.😠
And don't even get me started on their toys—if you can even call them toys, since half of them are broken anyway. Everything is covered in their paperwork, I can never find anything I need, and they leave a massive mess everywhere.
I remember back when the two oldest used to come over—it was summer, my husband and mother-in-law were working, so I was home. I’d still be sleeping and they’d already be in the kitchen, drawing all over the table and making a disaster.
I was absolutely livid,
I walk in and they don't even say "good morning" or anything.😠
And there I was, acting like a fool, buying them breakfast and pastries. They made a total mess, but boy, did they know exactly when to clean up the table when the food was arriving.
Their great-grandmother used to tease them about always hovering around me, and she’d actually lock the gate so they couldn't get to me. Honestly, she's clearly the only smart one in that whole group.

My mother definitely won't be the one to call her. Since they're divorced, she and my dad aren't on speaking terms, and she really can't stand her.
She did mention she might give her a call once because he keeps bugging me about it, just to smooth things over a bit. 🤣
I don't talk to my father, and he doesn't communicate with anyone from his side of the family. The only way she’ll find out anything is if my husband calls her, or if I let her know after the birth.
I'm not planning on calling her the second I head to the hospital; I don't need her blowing up my phone every five minutes asking, "Is the baby here yet?" 🙂

Maybe just tell your husband to firmly ask his mother to stop dropping the kid off at your place, especially right after the delivery.
That would be a huge 🙂

I just want some damn peace and quiet. That’s it. I need my baby to have some calm for once, and honestly? I need to be able to actually catch a break and get away for a bit without everything falling apart. Simple as that.
I just want to raise my kid my own way without all these people breathing down my neck or trying to take them away from me. Seriously, if they keep acting like this, I’m actually going to lose it.
I’m just sitting here praying to God that my mother-in-law doesn't try to pull that "he should help out" nonsense with my oldest kid. Like, give me a break! 🙏🙏 regarding the great-grandmother 🙏

Well, it's just that one grandmother who gives me trouble. My own mom and my husband's mother (who we live with) are actually fine.
That one lady told me I should call him immediately once I give birth, and I just told her, "Not a chance! I'll send him a text and that’s that."
When we were planning the wedding, we only had two weeks to get ready. I called him a week before, and he actually had the nerve to tell me that someone like him shouldn't be invited to a wedding.
And don't even get me started on when he found out I was pregnant. He started acting out, talking trash to my husband’s uncles and to my husband too, to the point where we didn't speak for months.
And now, apparently, I'm supposed to make a special invitation just for him?
Yeah, right.

When I mentioned the wedding situation to my husband's grandmother, she said I shouldn't even bother inviting him anymore. But then this other woman tells me I should still be catering to him, even though he's disrespectful to everyone.
Dealing with a family like this... honestly, it's enough to drive anyone crazy. 🙂

I had a total meltdown today for absolutely no reason when I opened the junk drawer in the living room unit. 🙂
It was just a massive mess of computer cables, phone chargers, camera cords... God knows what else we haven't touched in years. 😠
I tried to organize it, but honestly, I ended up tossing almost everything except the camera cable, the digital camera, and some phone chargers.

I open the next drawer 😲—and there are literally 54 PC Gamer magazines that MM dutifully buys and reads year after year. He reads them once and then just stuffs them in a drawer because apparently tech never advances and he needs them 🙄.
I tossed 51 of them. Kept only this year's issues.

In the last drawer, there were about a hundred CDs and DVDs of games from the prehistoric era (probably for the Amiga and Atari 😛). He guards them like gold even though he’s constantly downloading and buying new stuff!
I threw them all out except one!

Then MM gets home.
Asks what I did all day. I told him straight: cleaning and organizing.
He says "okay."
I ask if he wants to see what I did.
He goes, "Nah, no time, gotta sleep then hit the gym..." So I just smiled and said, have fun!

He's gonna lose it when he sees what I did. ...🙂 and 🙂

I mean...👍 I wouldn't have had the guts to do that myself. But my guy just showed up out of nowhere and cleared out a massive pile of old CDs recently. Everyone took a quick look at what they were dealing with, testing them out to see if they actually still worked. There's only about 3,000 pieces left.

Whatever, I don't care...

If he tries to argue, I'm cutting 🙂 him 🙂 off
.
I've had an issue with his nonsense for years—now I can finally blame it on pregnancy hormones.
It's my one shot to get rid of this jerk 😁!
Since the "gentleman" decided there's absolutely no reason to buy a new crib for the baby because we have enough space in the old ones—yeah, right!
He's living proof that being cheap actually hurts!

p.s. I don't know what's gotten into me today, I'm usually not this nasty!🤷

I honestly thought I was immune to pregnancy hormones—until yesterday. 😍
My mom called me—she’s living 218 miles away, but we had already agreed she’d come help out once the baby arrives. She’s incredibly eager to be here, and frankly, it’s easier for me since my husband will be out of the country during that time.
Our due date is May 30th, and the plan was for her to arrive a few days early. However, my husband and I are planning to remodel our apartment in the fourth month—repainting everything and setting up the nursery—and now she’s decided she wants to be right in the middle of all that 🤦:
Do I even need to mention that I haven't seen my husband in three months? We're going to have contractors in the house, the place will be covered in dust, I'll be eight months pregnant, and now my mother wants to squeeze herself into our tiny 450-square-foot apartment because she insists on supervising where every single wall goes—as if the two of us, being thirty-five years old, are somehow incapable of deciding where a wall should go 😕. She ended the conversation by telling me I need to "prepare" for the baby, saying it's a huge responsibility and not just like a pet—which is rich, considering I've lived alone for 17 years 😍.
Yesterday I was furious; today, I’m just crying. I told my husband that it’s anyone's guess which one of us will actually survive postpartum 😍: 🤦::

I mean, why can't you just be straight with her? Just lay it out there—look, don't come over, here's the deal, and that's that. It shouldn't be this complicated.
