So, I started a thread in the "Lonely Hearts" subforum about how I don't have anyone to hang out with, so I end up going out on my own sometimes. I wanted to see what people thought about it, you know? After a while, the thread just vanished. Deleted. No explanation. No heads-up. Since I had no idea why it was gone and didn't get a warning, I tried again with a similar thread, basically

Anyway, what’s your take on solo outings?

Anyone down to head out tonight?

I even threw in a poll, just a little something.

Then, the thread got nuked again. This time I got an explanation: apparently, there’s already a dedicated thread for classifieds, and mine was flagged as an ad because I asked if anyone wanted to go out with me.

Since I am genuinely interested in hearing people's opinions on solo outings—without the controversial part—I opened a third thread, structured like this:
What do you guys think about people who go out alone?

Do you find it weird?

I go out by myself sometimes. Honestly, I actually prefer it. I can show up whenever, leave whenever, do whatever... I don't have to rely on friends.

The only awkward part is when I run into someone I vaguely know and I'm stuck wondering whether to stick around or just give a quick nod and keep walking...

I'm talking about hitting the clubs.

I really don't think there's anything in that thread that breaks any rules. Yet, it was deleted again, and now I've been warned that I'll be banned if I try to open another one. Fine. I get that you aren't supposed to spam the same topic, but I only did it because nobody told me why the first one was gone. Once I stripped out the problematic part, I created a thread that follows every single rule, yet it still got wiped.

So, I'm sitting here wondering why I'm being forbidden from opening this third thread, which isn't even an ad.

The moderator who deleted my threads was Alexander Kern42.

Topic deleted due to lack of substance.

Going out alone can actually be better since you aren't relying on friends...
And? Are you looking for validation that you're "normal" or something?

Write a more detailed, coherent, and high-quality post if you don't want it deleted.

Why didn't you just use a search engine if you were that interested?
The thread already exists.

In any case, you wrote it much better in your initial post. What's the issue? Specifically, in the section that wasn't just an ad for going out:

_____________________
I'm curious about what you all think regarding people who go out alone...

My issue is that I'm not particularly talkative, and meeting new people is a struggle, especially if they are like me. If the other person does most of the talking, it isn't such a problem. Because of this, I don't have many friends, and the ones I do have aren't really the type to go out. Usually, I go out with one friend, but it becomes an issue when they don't want to, because I would go out every Friday and Saturday. So, perhaps once every two or three weeks, I end up going out by myself.

Once again today, nobody wants to go, so I will likely be alone again. I am simply wondering what your thoughts are—is this strange to you or what?

The original thread has been restored since the initial post actually made sense once the advertisement portion was removed.

Please adhere to the subforum rules moving forward. If you decide to start a new thread, ensure it is coherent; those last two topics were completely nonsensical.

I feel like the moderation has been a bit heavy-handed lately. This thread is clearly US-based, so I don't see much reason for it to be nuked—maybe just merge it with the old one if you guys are really that obsessed with avoiding duplicates 🤷
Some day, I was right in the middle of typing out a response to a thread (I can’t recall the exact title, but it was something along the lines of "R for Regret") and just as I hit send, the whole thing had vanished 🤣
In my opinion, that thread shouldn't have been deleted either; merging it with a discussion about post-breakup feelings would have made more sense. It feels pretty pointless to wipe out threads that actually spark engagement, provided they stick to the forum's topic and don't just devolve into mindless small talk 🤷
