1. Elemental Trigger
2. Synergistic Perceptions
3. Hidden Refuge
4. Delusion Fields
5. Omnipresent Boundary
6. Undulating Terrain
7. A Point of No Return
👍👍👍
I can't quite put my finger on it, but I have this nagging feeling we've seen this suggestion floating around before. Maybe it's just my imagination...😁
Regardless—when you pair it with Lustmordian The Black Star (1994), which is an absolute staple of the dark ambient scene—you're looking at his mid-90s evolution. It’s a landmark release, really. It set the gold standard for countless artists and new generations from then until today.

Hey everyone!
Ugh, I can only drop a few quick thoughts on Doolittle and Carried until tomorrow—not sure if I can actually write anything meaningful 🙂
I haven't dived super deep into XTC yet, but they're definitely my vibe... I’d love to see what Lisa Davis46 thinks about The Doors, and maybe analogbear40's take on TMC 😁

So, I’m still a little confused about how this poll actually works. I honestly thought you were only supposed to pick one option. It wasn't until later that I realized I could have voted for someone else too.

Yeah! Basically, if you see those little circles, you can only pick one. But if you see squares, you get multiple choices. For our Album of the Week thing, we use the squares so you can support a bunch of different albums at once. Of course, it's totally fine to just pick one if you aren't feeling the others, but using the extra votes helps certain albums get more traction, which makes it easier to see which one will win next week...🙂
Just a heads up though, once you hit vote, there's no going back, unfortunately!

Honestly, I think it’s actually better to just give a shout-out to everyone you're into. It’s kind of a shame I didn't catch on to that sooner 🙂

No biggie! We're still playing next Thursday and Friday too. 😉

Here goes nothing. I wasn't looking to cast a vote for my own suggestions, even if their debut is neck-and-neck with The Doors in my book. So, I’ve split my two votes: one for the absolute masterpiece that is the first The Doors album, and the other for A Tribe Called Quest—specifically their classic, The Low End Theory. It’s an essential record packed with gems. Honestly, 'Scenario' and Busta Rhymes' debut still stand as some of the highest peaks of 90s hip-hop culture for me.

Also, "Scenario" and Busta Rhymes' debut still feel like absolute peaks of 90s hip hop culture.
👍 It’s cool to see some folks here recognizing great hip hop, and ATCQ definitely fits that bill. Total legends. It was honestly tough deciding which album to pick. I wasn't expecting this one to win since hip hop and jazz rarely get much love here, so I put it down as a backup for those bonus rounds where we get to pick an album that hasn't been chosen yet.
Anyway, it's been another solid week with plenty of killer candidates. I can't vote for everyone, so I just went with whatever I'm actually itching to listen to next week.

I’d vote for The Doors, but I think at least one more album deserves a spot on this week's listening list—so I set up the poll based on that. My main pick is Calexico (first time listening to them and they’re honestly great), though I wouldn't mind if Primal Scream ended up winning too, since that album really deserves its own theme. I guess I'll throw a vote toward the Pixies as well; they've never been my thing, but I see people around here who really dig them.

Bravo, maestro [LeoGetz]get it, get it[/LeoGetz]. I was actually just thinking about how we should put that El Paso record back on the agenda... 👍

I see this as a complete sellout of core principles—just a cheap attempt to stir things up by pivoting toward those old-school, elitist types.😠

Well, I've actually got a question for you, my good man... 😛
Lisa Davis46 said:Hey... my man Dennis Hall41! 🙂
Looking at that organized list of albums on the first page, I noticed our buddy Casey Flores hasn't popped up yet. No clue when he might show up, and this album has been sitting there waiting for a bit... so I was wondering, would you be down to write an intro? It seems like you know Mountain Dew inside and out, and maybe you've got some extra time on your hands... 🕺
Also, if anyone else out there thinks they know their stuff and feels like jumping in to write about this before we even get to the chosen album, please do! I'd love to hear from you... don't be shy!

Looking at the organized list on the first page, it's clear that our buddy redbear12 hasn't jumped in yet—no clue when he will, either—and this album has been sitting there waiting for a bit... so I was wondering if you might want to take the lead on the intro? You seem to know the Mountain Dew stuff inside out, and hey, maybe you've got some extra time on your hands. 🕺
Also, if any other experts out there feel like diving in and writing about that before the selected album—feel free to jump in.
Sure, tomorrow—I'm totally wiped right now. I'm definitely not some lyrical genius like Darnielle, but AHWT still deserves a shot from a tired reviewer.😁

Just wanted to say, I had such a great time today painting in that early morning light! Honestly, I could see myself listening to this during those early hours—maybe paired with a cappuccino and a cigarette (yeah, I’m still messing around with rolling my own). 🕺 It's got soul.
I probably won't get through everything in time, honestly. I'm only on *The Low End Theory* right now, but man, there are just so many incredible albums this time around. I think I'll give Primal Scream a shot too. If more people jump in, maybe we’ll actually see some kind of tie at the top... 😉

Nice. 🙂
I'm actually pretty stoked for the intro! 🙂
