First, you’ll need to go into the BIOS and make sure the SATA drivers are set to AHCI, and honestly... that laptop of yours is a bit of a dinosaur.

If it were running Windows XP, it would be smooth sailing. 🙂

I follow the standard procedure: grab the 32-bit version, set the keyboard and language settings, wipe the drive. It starts installing, everything looks fine, then it restarts. But instead of picking up where it left off, it just loops back to the very beginning—language selection and keyboard layout all over again!
I've tried this two or three times now and I am officially losing my patience. Does anyone have a clue what's going wrong here?
Thanks

Amanda Sullivan said:omg, I'm such an idiot... thanks, I'm gonna go try that right now, fingers crossed it actually works. 🙂
Amanda Sullivan said:Is it really not here?... because if I don't copy this whole folder over, I won't be able to click on anything on my desktop... at least that's how it worked for me before... 🤷 😢
Amanda Sullivan said:ugh, wrong link. I seriously look like such an idiot right now haha...
anyway, when I'm looking at the Desktop folder in the name map, there's no "locations" tab available...
so after I moved everything over on my first try, I clicked on some folder on my desktop and it told me the location had changed and wouldn't let me open it... which basically means I probably need to move this desktop folder too, but how am I supposed to do that if the option isn't even there... 🤷
