I’ve been reading through so many lovely comments about Guasar and, honestly, I’m just loving it.
Personally, I’m leaning more towards a casual lounge or maybe a nice restaurant, though that guy seems pretty set on doing a hotel thing...
Does anyone know what the per-seat cost looks like, and how many people are we actually expecting to show up??

He seems pretty interested in the Radisson

It’s $44 on Saturdays, and I think it drops to $40 on Fridays... or something like that. We’re probably looking at around 180 to 200 people total. And honestly, the Radisson is going to be gorgeous once they finish it up, especially being right there on the beach. I think I read somewhere that those chairs go for about $50 or $60 there... 😎

Look, we were actually torn between Guasar and the Radisson. But once we sat down, grabbed a pen, and mapped out all the pros and cons, the Radisson won by a landslide... especially when you factor in having 200 guests. Honestly? I think 200 people would be way too much for Guasar. You'd all be packed in like sardines and there wouldn't even be enough floor space left to dance. That was my biggest hang-up with Guasar—my whole crew is young, they live to hit the dance floor, and we need room to move. Plus, everything at Guasar is top-tier, especially the food. Can't complain about that one bit. 🙂

I totally forgot to mention—we're expecting about 130 people, and honestly, even then, I think that’s pushing it for the Pirate venue (even though they’re insisting on a minimum of 140 for Saturday, which makes absolutely zero sense to me...). They have this one section of the hall that's completely walled off and isolated, and there is no way in hell I’d want to stick anyone in there; it would kill the whole vibe if they couldn't see what was happening. But hey, some of my friends had a party there recently with a smaller crowd—maybe around 80 people—and it was actually awesome!

Yeah... I'm dealing with the exact same headache... just too many people. Honestly, ever since we first stepped foot in that hall a few years back, my husband and I were like, "That's the one." No other venue even crossed our minds. Love at first sight, right? Haha. But hey, maybe I can actually squeeze them all in this time. 🙄 We were thinking about putting the older crowd in that section—you know, the ones who can't stand the loud music and stuff. Before, we were hitting around 160 or 170 people and it was perfect. Not quite a mosh pit, but felt full. Hmm... 😳

Man, if it's love at first sight, then there's really no decision to be made 🙂. It’s gonna be awesome regardless of how many people show up. 😉

Ugh, I can't even decide honestly though, picking between these two is basically impossible because they're both stunning... so just tell me which one hits harder for you 😁 anyway, once you guys get your hands on some gear, is everything set or what...?!

briskeagle53 said:Can anyone tell me what the deal is with the Aria ex. Kokolo group? I mean, does it actually make sense to hire a DJ for a prom night, or does that just feel... I don't know, fake? Like it won't have that real energy? Also, if anyone here in San Francisco has a solid recommendation for a group, let me know—and does anyone know if there are any videos online of them performing at parties?

I actually had my prom at Aria. It’s the only venue I bothered checking out. Honestly, it blew me away right away—everything felt super clean and modern. I heard a lot of good things about it, but I mostly just went with my gut.😛

There’s a chance we might end up with more than 200 people, but I’m betting on some cancellations. So, it'll probably settle down to around 200 or so. We really need to make sure there are plenty of young people there—I’d hate for them to have nowhere to dance... Everyone keeps raving about the pirate, and especially the food... We haven't officially locked in a date yet. Still tossing ideas around. September is definitely the plan, though.
I'm also curious about how the Radisson looks when you're right by the beach. Could someone clarify that for me? Is it an outdoor setup or what?? I really don't want to be looking at a $55 cover charge.
Thanks everyone for the help

Henry Hill26, could you maybe share a few more details about the Radisson?
So, when's the big wedding happening?

Radisson is out, I just called them. They scrapped those three different packages they had before. Now they’re only offering one single option. The food is included $133, but drinks? You gotta pay extra for those. You have to choose between a $9 or a $35 per person deal for beverages. If you go with the $35 one, it's all-you-can-drink. But if you pick the $9 version, you just get a glass of wine and beer, plus sodas and water—though I guess that's not really an unlimited thing... I ended up at a total of $90 per head because I was asking for everything in dollars. For 200 people, we're looking at $18,000. Thanks, but hard pass...

Moooooliiiim??? Seriously, that is way too much... 😲 😲 uf....that is just overkill.... Drop the number down a bit and join the pirates too, haha 😛 😁 And what about the pool at the Joker? It’ll still be gorgeous up there by the pools, and since you'll probably find the weather nice and warm, you can just chill outside...

Our setup works out to about $47 a chair since we can bring everything ourselves—our own booze, the desserts, the cake (they provide their own cake though), and they give us the room and a super cheap reception before the church service. Overall, it's a steal... but I don't know, maybe they canceled that deal now... Honestly, if you don't have a specific date locked in, I doubt you'll even be able to snag the Pirate. We were looking at both the Radisson and the Pirate last September, and we wanted to do our party in September this year, but every single date was booked solid. In the end, our party is October 18th—literally the very first date that was available at both places, and that was back when we started looking six months ago!!!!

I didn't actually ask if we could bring our own drinks... the food is $133. But honestly, I just don't want to drop that much cash on a wedding. I even reached out to a pirate. He already sent me some info. I'm not sure what my guy is going to think about everything... I really don't want things to feel too crowded. We're definitely looking at more than 200 guests... Our biggest headache is trying to visit all these venues since we're both based in NYC. My boyfriend is working full-time, and I'm still grinding away to finish up college at NYU.

So, I just got off the phone with Sky and checked out a few other halls and restaurants a bit ago. Prices seem to be hovering somewhere between $45 and $50... I mean, I can definitely keep calling them myself, but honestly, I’m more interested in hearing from people who have actually been there for weddings..
I reached out to
Aria
Bolero
Sky
Velum
And Kadena—they said they can fit about 120 people there.

If any of you know anything at all, could you maybe write a few words about each place?..
Or if you have a recommendation, let me know!

So, I was at a wedding at Skyline recently and it was killer. The food? Absolutely divine. But look, they didn't do that typical, boring wedding menu—I think the couple went all out and paid extra for the premium experience... we're talking cocktails by the pool and this massive late-night buffet right by the water around 1 AM with basically everything you could ever crave... The venue itself is totally solid too...

I wonder how many pounds of pastries they actually keep in stock over at Slatkarije?
Do you guys think the treats at Slatkarije are actually better than what you'd find at those local American cookie shops, or maybe just a classic neighborhood bakery?

The guy I was chatting with mentioned they have a standard menu... prices usually float somewhere between $45 and $35. If we book for a Friday or Sunday, he said we could get it for $35. When I told him we’re looking at around 200 guests, he suggested maybe $40.
A $500 deposit is required, and they can accommodate up to 320 people.
I really love that whole pool situation... :-)
I wonder if there's enough room for dancing though? That's pretty important to me.
Is Velum any good? I'm leaning towards it since being so close to the ocean sounds lovely...

The venue is huge, plenty of space to move around.
