Anyone else willing to help me find my way around?

What about Los Angeles FC? They have a presence in San Francisco too.

Ethan Lee96 said:Hi everyone, could someone share their experience with outdoor weddings? If the weather holds up, would May 30th be too chilly for an outdoor ceremony? Or is it still a bit too early in the season for that kind of plan?

Hey there,

I really hope not! I just got the green light for an outdoor wedding on May 29th over on Manhattan Island. If the weather turns nasty and it starts pouring... I guess Plan B basically has to be a trip to City Hall.

I am a newcomer to this forum and these discussions. 🙂 As it happens, I am getting married quite soon. 🙂
I find myself in need of some guidance. Does anyone have recommendations for a seaside tavern or perhaps a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere? Most importantly, the food must be exceptional. I am looking to host a dinner for approximately 30 friends—all of them young—in the coastal area somewhere between Santa Monica and Huntington Beach.
I would be most grateful for any advice or personal experiences you might be willing to share.

Check out Joe's bar and restaurant in Honey right on the beach. The food is incredible, and the location is unbeatable—you're practically two feet from the water. 👍 They handle baptisms and first communions too, so I bet they'd be perfect for this.
Another option would be The Tavern in Savannah, right in the heart of downtown. The food there is also fantastic, just a slightly different vibe. It isn't right on the water, but everything else about it is top-notch! 👍

Or, you could try Millie over in Savannah. I haven't been back since the new owner took over, so I can't vouch for the food, but the location and the vibe are absolutely stellar.

Mediterranean Bakery. Honestly, those guys work absolute magic with their almond cookies.🙂

So, our plan is basically just doing a small lunch for about 15 people—mostly just family—after the wedding. We were thinking somewhere near the coast, maybe somewhere fancy like Grasso or whatever, so I was just wondering if anyone could give me a rough idea of what a lunch like that would run per person?

It really all depends on whether you want a set menu or if you're letting guests order whatever they want from the menu, doesn't it? If you go with a fixed menu, then I'd say somewhere around $50 per person is a pretty decent, realistic price point, wouldn't you agree?

David Torres67, thank you so much for those suggestions! We actually just found and put a deposit down on a stunning little stone-and-wood tavern with local, home-style cooking. We are beyond thrilled because it is exactly what we were looking for.😉

Does anyone happen to know where I can pick up some cookie boxes—and I mean actual cardboard ones, not just those plastic containers?
Also, does anyone have recommendations for cute little trinkets or small gifts for guests? I’m looking for something a bit more interesting than just standard photo thank-you cards.
Thanks! 🙂

There are actually a few nonprofits you could support that way. For instance, National Down Syndrome Society, Slava Raškaj, and so on. 🙂

So, what’s the actual experience like? Were you all satisfied? I’m thinking about ordering the cookies from them... but maybe getting the cakes from Smith instead...

Also, if anyone could give me a ballpark figure: how many pounds of pastries do I actually need for a party of about 150 people?

I heard the rule of thumb is one pound per ten guests... but honestly, does that sound right to you? It seems a bit light to me...🙄🙄

We were honestly thrilled with both the pastries and the cakes; we always go to them whenever we're hosting a big celebration... but as for exactly how much dessert we'll need, isn't it probably best to just head down to the bakery and ask them directly? That's what I'm planning to do, and I'll likely order a little extra just to be safe.

I've got a venue, a band, and a photographer all booked for May 22nd in San Francisco-
The wedding is officially off, so if anyone happens to need those vendors for that date, shoot me a DM. I’ll leave this up for a few days before I start calling everyone to cancel the bookings 🙂

And honestly, wishing nothing but the best to everyone else out there getting hitched 🙂

And where exactly are you planning to hold them? A gym or a church?

Oh, I'm not exactly looking to tie the knot just yet... I just need to find a decent, beautiful spot where we can all actually get together.

Talk to the membership department. Just a heads up, if you're a young couple, you have to be members of the Kansas City Chiefs, and there's a fee of $67.
