Maybelline is fine if you're just looking for something quick, but honestly, I feel like most drugstore brands are starting to lose their edge lately. Christian Taylor8 says:
Is Slatkica registered as a small business, and how many pounds of cake are we talking about?
We can take this to DMs if you want. 😉
My mom picked up some bridesmaids for my sister from a woman out in San Diego this past fall—I think it was somewhere near the coast, I'm not exactly sure since I've never spent much time out that way.😍The cookies were incredible, too. I really wanted to grab some from her, but she doesn't have a registered small business, and I need the receipt for my records. 🙄

The small business is all registered and good to go, but I’m still second-guessing the pricing since they factored it into the sale... though I have this nagging feeling someone mentioned it earlier. $23I might have messed up the math on the price per pound. Anyway, I'll shoot you a DM with the actual number so you can double-check it yourself.

I was told the rate is $22/lb, so hopefully that helps someone out 🙂
In a small town in the Midwest, it's $18/lb.
Both businesses are officially registered, and I still haven't quite made up my mind regarding 🤷
Ladies, how far in advance did you all usually place your dessert orders?

Hey there...
Has anyone here actually eaten at that Midwestern-style restaurant over in St. Louis?
I'm dying to know if the food is any good...

Hey everyone!
My partner and I have been hunting for a band, and we actually just got off the phone with The Beatles... they only have two dates open next year—looks like one in August and one in September.
So, no luck there, which is a bummer, but the search continues...
Has anyone worked with the Live Nation group before? I'm wondering what their rates are like and what their vibe is—what kind of music do they usually play? Also, if you have any other musical recommendations, please let me know...

Anyway, here is a quick rundown of the info we've gathered so far—maybe this will help someone else out too:
-Hilton: the menu starts at $83 and goes up from there; the hall rental is $4733
-Ruth's Chris Steak House: the menu is roughly $73 per person...
-Marriott: the menu starts at $60 per person...
-Sal Glasser's Hall: the hall rental is $4667
-Peter's Hall and Ann's place over in Cherry Valley: they offer four different menus (you can find the prices on
their website), and the hall rental including service is $6000 + chair covers are $2.00
-Hyatt: it's 28 dollars for the first dinner + $10 for the second course (stew) + $3.25 for the chair covers. If you want to add extra meat to the first course, there’s no extra service fee for that, but for the second course, they charge $5.00 per person (we'd probably just pay for dancing if we could go there)
-Bizova Spa, Thermia Hotel: $103 all-inclusive, the hall rental is $33 per person, or you can do the menu for 155 per person (which includes both the first and second dinners)

The place is huge and can hold a crowd. It isn't exactly the most beautiful spot, but who cares about decor? Honestly, you should probably do some digging because that place actually shut down and then reopened under new ownership just a few months ago. I was there back in '07 for a wedding in the big hall, and again in '09 for a party in the smaller room.
To be blunt, you can find much better spots for that kind of money. The food portions were pretty skimpy, though they had enough to drink—except we spent forever waiting on service because they were short-staffed. I’m not blaming the servers, though; one person physically can't be everywhere at once, especially when we’re all waving our hands around just trying to get a bottle of Fanta.
My experiences are pretty dated and might not reflect how things are now, so definitely check around before you go.

I was actually there this past Saturday for a wedding—in the larger ballroom—and here is my take on it. Personally, I can't stand that room; those floor tiles are quite eyesore-ish, and don't even get me started on those multicolored patterns on the walls 👎 As for the meal, they served the standard banquet menu (soup, boiled meat, cabbage rolls, roast—the latter being my least favorite). The cabbage rolls weren't good at all; I had one bite and just left the rest, while everything else was merely... fine. The servers were decent enough, though—whatever drinks we requested arrived promptly. It felt a bit odd to me, too, that the venue manager gave a speech 😕 and the newlyweds were expected to pose for photos with the entire staff.
One shouldn't argue about taste, but as I mentioned, I really wasn't a fan of that hall. As for the pricing, I haven't a clue 🤷
If you ask me, the most beautiful venues in St. Louis are at Crystal (which is where I'll be holding my own wedding) 😍

Hey everyone. Just got back from a wedding at this estate in Ivanov that looks just like a castle, and honestly, I loved it. Everything was spot on. The servers were lightning fast—zero waiting around. The decor was gorgeous too; you can tell the floral arrangements were done by someone with actual taste. And man, I’ve never seen a restroom so spotless. My only gripe was the photo and video crew. They were some local big shots, the Krizmanics or whatever... they charged an absolute fortune, which was a total joke because you could find talent in Indianapolis for $833. They seemed like they were just rushing through the job to get paid and get out. The bride was devastated; she was actually in tears

Has anyone here actually used the banquet hall owned by Peter and Anne over in Cherry Hill? I’m looking for some honest feedback on their track record... I’ve been eyeing the Zelenkov venue, but honestly, the price tag feels a bit steep. Don't get me wrong, the space itself looks incredible and the service seems top-notch, but I can't help feeling like I might be overpaying. I’m trying to find something with a similar vibe but maybe a little more budget-friendly. If anyone has any suggestions or knows of a decent alternative, I’d really appreciate it!

I’ve heard about that venue before. They’re pretty affordable, though they're almost always booked up. As for those Krizmanics, I’ve heard stories about them filming weddings all day only to have things go completely wrong. Apparently, something malfunctioned, and they didn't even have a backup plan ready. That’s just unacceptable. I also heard that because they book so many weddings, they often send out rookies who have no idea what they're doing. Those glowing testimonials they get? Totally overrated and meaningless.

I actually went there for a wedding once. Loved the place. Food was solid and the staff really knew their stuff too...

Casey Hernandez21 said:I have a bit of a dilemma regarding dessert, and I’m having a hard time choosing. I can't quite decide between picking up treats from a small town in the Midwest or something from a small town in the South near Pittsburgh (specifically near a small mountain town). Some people swear by one, while others insist the other is much better 🤷 Since I'm not very familiar with either area, I'm feeling a little lost. Would you mind sharing your own experiences, thoughts, or perhaps some recommendations to help me settle this?
Many thanks 🙂

I picked up some treats from Grandma's Creek... honestly, I’m obsessed. I've tried their stuff before, so I already knew exactly what I was getting into. Their pricing per pound is actually decent too... $18Down in Ruščica... $23 I don't even know where to start with this one... just a total mess. Honestly, I'm still trying to wrap my head around how things actually work out here. It’s all just a bit much sometimes... anyway, moving on.

Hey ladies!
I have my wedding coming up this September, but I still haven't sorted out the desserts. Does anyone have any good recommendations for bakeries in Indianapolis or the surrounding areas? Thanks!🙂

-At Petra and Anna's place over in Cherry Valley, they’ve got four different menus to choose from (you can find the prices on
their website), and renting out the hall with service included comes to $6000, plus you have to account for the covers at $2.00

- Bizovac Springs, Thermia Hotel: $103 all-inclusive options, or just rent the hall for $33 per head, or go with the $155 per person menu for the first two dinners)

Thanks so much for the heads-up, you really helped me out here... I guess I'm just a bit stuck on the details regarding Visnjevac and Bizovac. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around what "hall rental" actually entails in practice. Like, if I go with Bizovac, am I paying the menu price of $103 per person and then tacking on an extra $33 per person just for the room itself?

Also, does anyone know what "all-inclusive" actually looks like there—does that include things like dessert and drinks, or is it just the basics??

thanks...

I was actually there recently for a wedding, and honestly, the whole place looks amazing. Even the bathrooms were spotless—I mean, I was genuinely impressed to see all sorts of feminine hygiene products neatly laid out just in case someone needs them... God forbid! :-D
The servers were wearing white gloves and were incredibly polite, constantly hovering around the guests to make sure everything was fine.
As for the food, it was decent, though I guess the noodles in my soup were a bit off; they felt undercooked or something. But the cabbage rolls, the meat, the desserts... yeah, everything else was good.
There you go. ;-)

If I were from Indianapolis, I’d definitely head over to 😉
. Unfortunately, in a city where I actually think I might have a wedding one day, there aren't even close to halls this beautiful 😠

Thanks for the info, you were super helpful... I'm just trying to figure out the deal for Visnjevac and Bizovac—I'm not quite clear on what "hall rental" actually entails? For example, at Bizovac, would I pay the menu price of $103/person and then an extra $33/person just for the room itself?

Also, do you know what "all inclusive" usually means there—does that include desserts and drinks??

thanks...

So, regarding the Petra and Anna hall—they don't really do a separate hall rental fee... they just have set menus that list everything included. Honestly, if you want the best value, go with the JURE menu; that one is totally loaded—two dinners, booze, roast pork, lamb... I'm not 100% sure about the desserts, though... but you can check the prices on their site, and the staff is already factored into those rates. The only reason I heard of anyone paying a rental fee was because one wedding party had a deal worked out ages and ages ago... 👍

Honestly, I just finished checking out the halls in San Diego and I am absolutely floored by how incredible everything was, the people there were just so incredibly kind and welcoming that I’m already counting down the days until next year... 🙂)

thanks Tim. They told me back in Russia that they were $22, but my mom insisted on trying something else. Honestly, I think I'll just stick with Beam; I really don't feel like driving all the way to a city like Chicago 😉

The Peter and Anne hall looks 😲
It’s gorgeous 😍
But honestly, it hits me a bit weird—maybe it's just because I grew up in Chicago where we don't skip the appetizers before the soup, or where you can actually get decent lamb and roasted pork.
The seating layout is fine, though—it isn't shaped like a T or an L, so nobody ends up stuck in a blind spot missing the action.
