Ladies, has anyone here actually sat in Darryl’s chair for a makeover? I can't for the life of me remember his last name 🤷 I'm curious to know if his work is actually any good...

We were actually just there a couple of weeks ago, so I should have the full rundown for you.
The first dinner option is $30—you get soup, a platter with three different types of meat, sides, and a salad.
For the second dinner, they do a stew-style meal— $10 per person.
That price includes all the drinks... basically everything from original sodas (both sparkling and juice styles) and mineral water to wine and hard liquor—I think there are about 4 or 5 different kinds available, just nothing like Jagermeister.
Desserts aren't included, though.
Tips are $3.25.
If you want to beef up that first dinner by bringing your own pork or lamb, they don't charge extra for adding it, but if you want to swap out the stew for your own meat for the second dinner, then it’s $5.00 per person—or if you keep the stew and just add your own meat, it ends up being $5.00 per person (so $30 + $15).
They don't really do any combos where you can opt out of their drink selection to bring your own... honestly, you can't really ask to take anything away from the menu because they won't budge on the price, but you're more than welcome to add whatever else you want to it.
Anyway, hope that helps! 👋

Darryl did my makeup twice and honestly, I have zero complaints—the only issue is that he’s gotten so popular lately that you really have to rush to grab a reservation.

Oh man, sorry! I totally went MIA on this forum for a bit. So, looking at a budget of roughly $1,350—which is just under ten bucks if you're counting differently, haha$0.00—honestly, you really can't go wrong with either Greencrest or The Four Band, they're both solid choices👍.

I'm curious, who actually needs to have those embroidered towels for the occasion? Is there a specific tradition for it? I know they're used for godparents or tea ceremonies...

That’s exactly what I heard too. I actually had my wedding back in May, and let me tell you, I had to put down a deposit on the vendors like a year and a half before the big day. Just recently, some friends of mine were trying to book them for a date in mid-2011, but they were already totally slammed. Seriously though, you should at least give them a call—I can pass their number along to you if you want.

In a small town in the Midwest, it's $18/lb.
Both businesses are officially registered, and I still haven't quite made up my mind regarding 🤷
Ladies, how far in advance did you all usually place your dessert orders?

I actually ended up getting my sweets from that place in Small Town, USA—we did all the cakes except for the wedding cake itself—and honestly, I couldn't be happier. Even my guests were raving about them, especially the cakes. Just for reference, the cakes were $40/piece and the assorted treats were $18/kg.

So, here’s the situation: over at my place, even the towels have... Godparents? Is that really what we're calling them now? It’s such a heavy, loaded term, isn't it? In our culture, being chosen for that role isn't just some casual social gesture or a way to pad a guest list. It’s a lifelong commitment. It’s a bond that goes deeper than mere friendship. When you stand up there and accept that responsibility, you aren't just a guest at the wedding—you're becoming part of the foundation of a family. It's a sacred trust. Why do we treat it like it's just another title to collect? Both sides of the coin, really. What on earth are we even talking about here? Is this some kind of inside joke I missed, or are we just throwing random words at the wall to see what sticks? If you're trying to make a point, you might want to try again—preferably with a bit more substance next time. i Is there anything more exhausting than dealing with people who constantly try to play the victim? It’s truly relentless. One minute they’re acting like they’ve been dealt a losing hand by life, and the next, they’re looking for anyone to blame for their own lack of effort. Why does this pattern repeat itself so consistently? Is it a lack of accountability, or just a convenient way to avoid doing the actual work? It’s frankly tiresome..
Wait, what exactly are we talking about here? Is this just a random thought, or am I missing some crucial context? Give me something to work with! One big one goes on him, and then two smaller ones go on his hat—or a cap, or whatever else he’s wearing.
And now you’re telling me they’re bringing smaller towels for the backup band? Honestly, even the guys playing the background music aren't getting the full treatment.
If you want to get this right, you really ought to ask the elders in your family. Everything about these traditions depends on where you come from, from start to finish. Take my hometown near El Paso, for example—around here, we don't typically give gifts to the godparents. However, the local rule is that both the groomsmen and bridesmaids receive towels, which means everyone ends up with two. On the other hand, my boyfriend comes from a Border Town, USA, where they actually do give gifts to the godparents, but only a single item, and they receive it strictly from the bride's side. To avoid any drama, we decided on a compromise: everyone gets a gift, but we’re sticking to just one per person. 🙂
Well, I’ve gone and done it. I've completely lost my footing. 😵

Well, I actually put down a deposit for both the Green Roof and the Quattro for October 8th of next year, so I guess I am exactly that 🤣 type of person. Though, I have to admit, I'm feeling a little skeptical. Ten months is a long wait, and I'm worried the weather might turn cold by then. Everyone keeps telling me it's actually the perfect time because you avoid those brutal summer heatwaves without hitting the freezing temperatures, so... yeah...🤷 But I suppose the big decision is made. Now I just need a photographer. I'm thinking about calling a guy over at Studio 69 in Small Town, USA this coming Monday to see if he's available..

Mine is set for October 9th of this year, so I'll let you know how it goes!🙂 🙂
It shouldn't be cold, but honestly, you can never really tell. For instance, last year September was rainy and freezing, yet October turned out to be absolutely beautiful.
You won't truly know anything until the day itself, right?🤷 🤷 🤷

We tied the knot on October 3rd last year. The weather was perfect. Warm and sunny without being oppressive—around 70 degrees. October is a solid choice.👍

The base package starts at $3,500 and goes up to $1333, and here is what's included:
5-6 hours of filming (depending on the wedding schedule)
3 complete DVD sets
6 photos (5x7 size) in an accordion fold,
1 photo (8x10 size),
400-600 edited images on a DVD,
from which you choose about 350 to be printed as 4x6 prints.
A highlight reel from the ceremony,
a love story shoot (done before the big day)
a montage featuring childhood photos

That's the basic setup, but you can negotiate all the extras directly with him.
I ended up booking him, so we'll see... but I am 100% certain I'll be happy because he truly impressed me from our first meeting... Just reach out to him and you'll see...

Did you end up making it over to the tailor? If you don't mind, could you send me their number too? I'm thinking about getting something simpler made myself... Thanks!

You really need to do some deeper due diligence, because a few of my friends went with the exact same setup you described, and the end result was definitely $2667 underwhelming, so keep that in mind. Their photos were incredibly basic—over-processed, washed out, and totally lacking any sense of style. The video was just mediocre. There's way too much hype, but in the end, the quality is barely a passing grade.

For $2667, passing isn't enough. Top-tier photographers aren't cheap, so why settle? That's just how I see it. I've seen plenty of bad reviews for Krizmanić Studio lately, so I don't even bother with them—even though I'm tight with their family and could probably pull some strings. But look, I have high standards for my photos. If someone else is fine with "just okay," then whatever, let them have it.

Krizmanić—it’s not quite hitting the mark for me; I’ve definitely come across more talented photographers out there...
