Can someone please recommend a solid folk band in the St. Louis area? I have wedding guests arriving on June 9th and we haven't booked any musicians yet. We just need them for the house and the drive to the church. Also, does anyone know roughly what they charge? I honestly have no idea how much this costs.

Not sure if my guys travel out toward Indianapolis, but check this Facebook link... I’m looking for someone to play at my place before my own wedding too... $667 told me about them, but since I live in a small town outside of Columbus, you should probably call them and ask... if they work your area, give them a look, otherwise they're based near Columbus...http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002973067339 They're also on YouTube—they even guest starred on some local TV station, so you can hear them right now. Hopefully, this helps at all... 😉

Could anyone lend us a hand? We started looking for a photographer and videographer for our big day a bit too late, so we would truly appreciate any recommendations you might have. 🙂
Our wedding is in June, and we were hoping to book this studio out of Indianapolis http://studio-light.net/ but they're already fully booked. Their photos look wonderful, though I haven't seen any of their video work anywhere. If anyone knows of someone similar, I would be so grateful... thanks!

Hey, ironseal17! Up in Indianapolis, everyone seems to be raving about that photographer's work—I actually know a girl who used them for her video, and she was absolutely thrilled with the results. Honestly, even people from NYC and the surrounding areas wouldn't mind making the trek out to the Midwest just to work with them, provided you can actually track down decent lodging nearby! You might want to dig through the other threads on photographers and videographers for more intel. Also, there’s this one guy based out of Columbus; my photos from him were perfectly fine—nothing mind-blowing, but he’s reliable and won't break the bank. It's photographer Joe, and I actually snagged a discount from them $167 at that bridal expo, so if you (or anyone else reading this!) could use a deal, just shoot me a private message and I'll pass it along. Here is their link http://www.foto-joe.com I hope that helps point you in the right direction at least. Best,

Hey! We were actually torn between that studio and the one we eventually picked—Frank and Petrić. The pricing is pretty much the same, and both their photos and videos are excellent.

The only catch is if we're both looking at the exact same date, because my wedding is also in June. 🙂

Here are some links so you can check out their work:

Hope this helps! Feel free to send me a private message if you have more questions.

Thanks ladies, you all are so quick 🙂
I’ve heard all sorts of things about Indianapolis, but not much good—plus, it’s pricey. I haven't heard of photographer Joe before, but his work looks decent, so I might give him a call. Is it even worth hiring someone from NYC when they charge so much more, especially once I factor in travel and lodging? Honestly, I think I'll just find someone local to these parts. I also need to track down Frank. If anyone else has recommendations or wants to warn me about someone, I would be truly grateful 😁

Thanks to everyone for the advice. Since I had to move the wedding date to a Friday, I managed to book http://studio-light.net/ to capture the big day. The photographer, Mark, also has his own site if anyone wants to browse: http://marinko.org/. It feels like the right call; he was incredibly helpful with all our initial questions. The price we were quoted was $2000 for full video and photography, including the prints and the album, though I can't recall the details of his cheaper packages. I considered reaching out to Frank, but honestly, his photos look a bit too over-edited for my taste. A special thank you to Anne for all her help. If anyone needs anything from me, please don't hesitate to ask... best wishes!

hey.. I was wondering if anyone here has actually worked with MarMa lighting for weddings out in Columbus?? Also, does anyone know how their pricing usually works? Like, what am I looking at? 🙂

Seriously, does nobody know a good makeup artist around Columbus, Indianapolis, or even El Paso? 😢

Hey there!
Quick question for those in the know (so I don't have to spend my afternoon endlessly scrolling through this forum again)—does anyone happen to know of a decent print shop in Indianapolis or maybe somewhere near Columbus? Ideally, I’d love to find something closer to home, though I suspect that might be asking too much... I'm just looking for basic printing services, as I plan on adding all the decorative touches myself later on.

It’s honestly best if you just head down to Indianapolis to ask someone in person... 😉

I’ve actually heard some pretty glowing reviews about Ana Coric from Indianapolis. If you want to see her work, she’s got all her shots posted online...

Where are you based?
There’s this one woman over in Columbus—I can't recall her name off the top of my head, but if you know the area, I can definitely point you in the right direction...

Since I just moved to Indianapolis😉 I'm struggling to find a decent makeup artist. Don't really have anyone to ask around, so maybe try explaining where she is?🙂

Look, I’m also living in Indianapolis, so if you need anything at all, just hit me up!!

There's a makeup artist located on the street heading toward the train station, right across from that bakery shop. You'll also find a Hilton and a Starbucks pretty close by...
There's actually another salon tucked between those cafes in the row of shops over on the street with the post office—shoot, I can't even remember the name of that specific place...
Hope that helps a bit... seriously, don't hesitate to ask whatever is on your mind. I've got this forum pulled up on my phone constantly, so I'll get back to you super fast... 🙂

Hey! They actually did the lighting for our wedding last year—they handled everything from the dance floor lights and those cool bubble effects to the fog machines and even the special lighting for the newlyweds' table $667, and they were asking for about $1000
for the whole venue. Honestly, I was pretty happy with how it turned out

That salon on the street with the post office is actually called Manhattan Beauty Center; there is also Essence over on Main Street and then there's Studio 54.👋

First off, sorry Jack Lee5, someone here suggested I take a break until the big day since I've checked most things off my list, so I decided to unplug for a bit 🥳 🙂 ! We're finally heading out to Smalltown, USA this Saturday to check out those wedding bands, so I'll be able to give you all the scoop on prices and selection... we might even hit up the local fair..! Oh, and if it's okay to brag here, it looks like my wedding dress might actually be a little too small (fingers crossed everything goes well) hi hi 🙂

I am looking for a high-quality, affordable florist—someone professional and easy to work with. It would be ideal if they also provided vases so I don't have to deal with renting or buying my own.😁

Since my wedding is being held at the Marriott in Mexico City, I am considering options in Columbus, the Finger Lakes, or even the surrounding areas.

Thank you all very much 😍
