Even if you're feeling pressed for time, try to carve out a moment to go check out at least two different gyms.
Everyone says the local YMCA is a solid club.
As for Gold's Gym, I honestly can't say.

From what I know, TRenk folded and now there's some place called Leon Gym there.

I think they do MMA and Muay Thai, if I heard that right.

Seriously, you have no clue... I just heard it from a buddy who thinks Kenut is involved, and that's really all I know.

The old Trenk lineup is gone—Leon Beneta branched off to start his own spot called Leon Gym. They've got sections for Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA. Honestly, the facility is top-notch; anyone looking for a place to train won't regret picking them.

Where is this new gym located? What’s the address? Right now, I’m doing Muay Thai training with Mira at Pit Bull. The sessions are excellent. I actually caught up with Mira today and we spoke highly of you. 🙂 He mentioned he trained with you for a long time and said you're an outstanding teacher and a great person. He also had nothing but praise for Perica regarding the MMA training. Best regards!

Miro is a solid dude—glad to hear you're training under him. Pit Bull is easily our best club when it comes to striking, and they’ve even opened a branch in Chicago... my boys are actually signed up there for kickboxing and Muay Thai competitions.
As for Leon Gym, they hold their sessions at the tennis center in the suburbs—right across from Fenix Computers. You enter the gym off Maxim Avenue, about 500 meters from the Dubrava transit loop.

I am reaching out to see if anyone—anyone at all—has any actual intel regarding Jeet Kune Do training sessions in the greater metropolitan area or even just the surrounding suburbs. I have been scouring the internet for hours now, but honestly, it’s been a total dead end. It feels like everything is either outdated or just completely non-existent anymore; those old clubs everyone used to talk about? Yeah, they seem to have vanished into thin air. I would absolutely love to get back into training this style, but at this point, it's starting to feel like a lost cause. 😢Thanks in advance!!!!

I was wondering which clubs here in the States teach Poomsae (Taekwondo)?

Does anyone know of a gym in the Greater Houston area where I could train boxing or Muay Thai?
If you’ve trained at a club there, please let me know what you thought of it.

I’ve been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for about two years now, and I’m really looking to branch out and try some actual Judo, specifically if there are full-contact sessions available...
I was chatting with some guys who are planning to join the special forces soon, and they mentioned an outfit called 'Alfa' being pretty much the go-to spot in the city...
But I’m wondering what the rest of the landscape looks like, you know? Are there more laid-back, recreational clubs out there for someone just looking to train without all the intensity...

To wrap things up, I’d love some solid recommendations on where to go, especially looking for the most budget-friendly spots—maybe even some student discounts—and where they're located... I’m mainly interested in traditional, code-based training rather than those various self-defense classes you see everywhere, since I don't exactly have a ton of faith in those, though I haven't actually tried one myself yet...

That’s not really traditional jujutsu, though...

I'm short on The Realist, so I've pivoted to some sort of semi-traditional Aikido...
Just for recreation, I suppose...

And here I was, thinking Japanese Jiu-Jitsu was the actual original stuff, you know, the traditional version...

old-school jujutsu follows those ancient samurai ryu schools—unlike ju jitsu, judo, aikido, or certain karate styles, which are just modern Japanese budo stuff... basically different vibes entirely.

That's right, Alfa is the one. I’d also suggest checking out my Dennis Survival Jujitsu over on Subiceva Street. You won't find harder contact in JJ than here. Beyond the sport aspect, we offer fairly realistic self-defense—something classic JJ often lacks. It really comes down to the instructors, their experience, and how they select and modify techniques, but I won't ramble. I'm just not sure if you can jump in mid-semester; usually, enrollment happens in September, but ask around and go check out a session.

Other clubs exist, though I'm not sure how up-to-date this list is:

Greetings. I am seventeen years old, and for some time now, I have been feeling a strong desire to begin training in a martial art. While I have never stepped foot in a gym or practiced any combat discipline before, the prospect of MMA specifically appeals to me quite deeply. However, I find myself grappling with a bit of hesitation: I am concerned whether jumping straight into such a demanding discipline might be too much to take on all at once for someone starting from scratch.🙄

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good club in the city? I've heard some talk about UFK Tresnjevka and UFK Dubrava
