There it is 😁,the second I got home from work and sat down, gold spiked out of nowhere.
Silver too. I think Ben muttered something about it.

What was the exact wording used; was it specifically QE3, or just certain measures hinting at further bond purchases? I've been searching for some clarity but can't seem to find the specifics.

Look, I already know I’m gonna be dead wrong on my calls. 🙂
I need to pick up 3 ounces of gold. Like, right now.

The Operation Twist program is staying on track—we're looking at ZIRP through 2015, monthly Treasury purchases hitting $45 billion, and several other moving parts leading up to the election.😂 Essentially, this should push the S&P 500 past the 1,500 mark, ensuring Obama secures his win, and so on.😉

$40 billion a month, yet there’s no end date in sight. If we don't see actual improvements in the unemployment rate, we're going to have to push forward with the blockade...

Exactly 40 billion a month... though honestly, that’s beside the point. Ben is essentially gambling everything on this...😍

If my colleagues move aggressively on gold tomorrow, they could potentially break through the 1,800 mark... what are your thoughts?👍

It’s funny how everyone goes silent the moment metal prices start dipping.
I think we’re hitting a massive turning point. Between yesterday and today, they decided to just keep printing money indefinitely, which pretty much guarantees the dollar is dead in the water.
Part of me secretly hoped these lunatics might have learned a thing or two from history. Clearly, they haven't.
Anyone who still thinks there are actual markets left in this country is either an idiot or a madman. Maybe both.

It’s hard to imagine the monetary situation untangling itself easily or anytime soon.
We’re looking at years of fallout, and I doubt the average American's standard of living will stay afloat during the process.

It’s been obvious for a long time—they'll just kill off paper currency, just like they've done every single time in history.
Is it simple? Not even close. Especially for those who still haven't connected the dots and think things are just going to fix themselves.

Well, they aren't the problem... they just still believe the Federal Reserve will actually manage things responsibly regarding fiat currencies... much like the other 99.99% of the population.🤷

I feel a little bad for them... actually, no, I'm lying.
Because they’ll be right back at it once the S&P 500 dips from 5,500 to 5,450, claiming the bubble finally burst for the millionth time.

I wouldn't bet on the dollar collapsing entirely. Inflation? Sure. But total dissolution? I doubt it.

Congrats, guys. Honestly, I was betting the money printer wouldn't kick in until after the election. Guess the old dog really can't learn new tricks after all.

Thanks... the global economy is in rough shape, which forced Ben's hand with BlackRock...

With this move, the presidential election is essentially decided—Obama is cruising toward a second term... meanwhile, we look toward gold at $2,000/oz and silver at $50.😉

So, the path forward is finally clear. We’ll probably see some sideways action around the 1790/1800 level for a month or two while we test out that 1900 ceiling. I honestly thought a quick little dip was more likely, but looking at things now, that scenario is officially off the table.

So, you're telling me that back in 2011—during the absolute peak of the crisis and when they were cranking the printing presses like crazy—silver didn't drop 50% in value? And we're supposed to call that just a "minor retracement"? Give me a break.

Let's not get carried away here. We aren't debating religion. There's a difference between having convictions and calling people crazies just because they disagree—especially when the very theory you're backing just tanked by 50%. That’s not exactly a winning argument. And honestly, stop recycling sixty-year-old doom stories about the dollar collapsing or fiat becoming worthless. People have been shouting that same script since Bretton Woods, and yet, here we are. Sure, the collapse could happen tomorrow. It could have happened yesterday. It’s been "happening" for six decades straight. But while everyone else was busy waiting for the end of the world, some people were busy making massive fortunes on silver right after the printing presses started running.
Bottom line: we're playing in the market. Things aren't exactly stable enough here to be calling anyone crazy.

Just so there's no confusion, I'm generally on the buy side when it comes to precious metals.

We probably won't see that until 2013. Expect some serious pushback at 1800, and then much heavier resistance coming up in November (??) around 1900. It almost certainly won't blast through 1900 on the first try this year. There’ll likely be at least a month between each attempt.

The market is wild right now—Gold could break 1900 in San Francisco today, or it could tank so hard you'll wonder who turned out the lights.

Either way, regardless of your bias, staying cautious is what matters most.

It’s just not happening. Or, if you want to be polite, it’s nowhere near realistic for something to shift like that overnight. What you're saying is just oversimplifying a massive, complicated mess.
