Chloe Morgan6 said:The kid was pretty shaken up at first, just a totally shell-shocked little guy. And I mean, I can totally see why, he's only a senior in high school. 😁 But overall, he told me he’s one hundred percent behind me and he’ll do whatever needs to be done. We’re both mentally bracing ourselves to break the news to our parents, which I guess is why we're both acting so on edge lately. But, like I said, it’s just how things have to go, right? I don't think I could keep it from them... they raised me and they love me, so maybe it’ll all just work out okay in the end. I'll keep you guys posted! 🙂

I have to weigh in on your situation and say I really admire you... the way you two are looking at this is so incredibly positive. I suppose I'm in a much better spot myself—my boyfriend and I are almost through college, he’s already working, and we’ve been together forever—yet even I'm not quite as optimistic as you are, and I'm still hoping I'm not actually pregnant. But reading your perspective makes everything seem a little brighter for me too, thinking that if everyone else managed to find their way, then we will too...
huge congratulations to you!!

Please, don't let fear take hold of you... I honestly wonder what any of you would do if you found yourselves standing in my shoes right now. You cry, you break out in a cold sweat, you open up to your parents, and then, just when it feels like everyone finally understands and accepts the situation, you face a miscarriage. It feels like your entire world is just collapsing... it's truly devastating. I truly believe that as long as babies are being born healthy and strong, everything else will eventually find its way back to balance. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both of you 😘

Chloe Morgan6 and shadowtinker21, I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you both. It feels like things aren't exactly ideal right now, but since circumstances are always shifting, I suppose there's reason to stay optimistic. Some people spend their whole lives waiting for the perfect moment, and they end up waiting forever. If your parents are reasonable people, I imagine they'll eventually be proud of how maturely you're handling this "situation," even if there's some initial anger or worry. Once the shock wears off, things will likely turn out better than you expect; once the baby arrives, grandparents usually can't get enough of them.
I'm not much older than you, really—just two years ago I was still in college myself, and I know women who managed to finish their degrees while having babies. It was probably harder for them than it is for me, though perhaps life is easier for them now than it is for me today.
BEST OF LUCK!

The guy came home from work today with a test, and we honestly couldn't wait a second longer before I just ran it myself. It came back negative! (I used an Intim Plus test). So, if he couldn't have accidentally missed a pregnancy when my period is already two weeks late, then I'm starting to think there really isn't one... that’s the only logic that makes sense to me 🤷
Anyway, I'll give you all an update on September 7th, once our OBGYN gives us the final word

shadowtinker21 said:My last period was July 12th, so that puts me at day 47—and I've been feeling this dull, nagging ache on my left side, so I can't help but wonder if it's just a cyst causing all this delay...😕

it's such a massive gap, because if I actually conceived, it likely happened around August 7th... and if I were pregnant, I feel like every single test would have caught it by now...

So you're saying if you got pregnant, it happened on August 7th? Honey... no way... not on that date. Not even if the baby belonged to Philip, you couldn't have conceived then. It's too late. By now, your body should already be gearing up for your next cycle...

Basically... it's not... but something is definitely going on...🤷

Chloe Morgan6—I read what you wrote... sure, you guys are young (not that I'm trying to lecture you here...😁)...but let me tell you, I had my first kid at 20. Exactly 20 years and 3 months old. I got married right after I turned 18...
Everything happens when it's meant to happen. We wanted a baby so badly, but we couldn't make it happen for almost two years...😍...and then, out of nowhere, there they were...

There's a time and a reason for everything. Just accept that things have to unfold this way... and seriously, like I said... you aren't some fifteen-year-old kid anymore...

Hang in there...😉 👍

Yeah, according to basic logic, that's how it works, but I don't trust anything for certain... take my friend, for example, she was on the pill. She was supposed to start a new pack on Sunday, but couldn't find any at the pharmacy, so she slept with her boyfriend on Sunday without protection, and then 😉, she started the pills on Monday, a day late. She didn't get her period the next month, and well—now she's a mom to a beautiful little girl. Anything is possible. It’s a tiny, tiny percentage, but once in a while, it happens to you, or me, or my friend, or some fourth 🙂
I also think I'm not pregnant, and that's exactly why I can't wait to see the results. I suspect it might be an infection (I had one once, which is why I took the pill, though I stopped because they didn't sit right with me after five years)... and I believe everything will be fine!🙂

I was convinced I might be pregnant, so I fell for that little myth that you can take a test even before your period is late... Naturally, I went ahead and took a test about 4 or 5 days before my expected cycle—and nothing. A total negative. And just for the record, I bought the most expensive brand at CVS to ensure accuracy.

Then, the day before my period was supposed to start, I tried again (with a cheap drugstore version this time), and still nothing... At that point, I was certain I wasn't pregnant. But then my period didn't show up, so two days after the delay, I grabbed one more test and—lo and behold—POSITIVE. Like, a HUGE positive.

I rushed straight to my OBGYN, who, predictably, couldn't actually see anything on an ultrasound yet...

My advice to the ladies? Just hang in there! Don't go throwing money away on tests too early, and please, don't rush to the doctor until you're at least 6 or 7 weeks along...

Otherwise, you'll just end up stuck in limbo—not quite here, not quite there, and totally frustrated.

But are you 100% certain she didn't just forget to take a pill here and there?
And if I remember correctly—I only took them for three months, so my memory isn't perfect—you're supposed to start the pills on the first day of your period... so, according to that, she should have started on Sunday, the first day of her period... right? And was she having sex during her period??😲
The first day of your period is a very, very low chance for conception... maybe the last day, but the first...? I never heard that... I think that's how my second child happened (I think, anyway, since we finished on the last day, there was still a bit of spotting)... and later he pulled out....

I mean, it's totally possible she just missed one pill along the way... I know a case like that; I had a neighbor who took them religiously and forgot just one... now she has a son..)

Exactly... there's no point throwing money away. If it's late, just wait those few days. If it's positive, you have plenty of time to see the doctor; at least wait another 2 or 3 weeks...
They won't see anything anyway, so why deal with the hassle of waiting in line... plus, some people even pay for unnecessary exams... it's just not needed...

I didn't even go for my first appointment until I was two months along.... what's the rush? That's when they can actually do an ultrasound and see the baby....

Just a little off-topic here...
Had the strangest dream last night. Again. (I don’t even know how many times I’ve dreamed about being pregnant now...😁). I think I was somewhere in my second trimester... at an appointment. I was asking the doctor to run one of those special ultrasounds—you know, the kind where you can see everything clearly. It’s weird, though, because that doctor is actually dead now. He used to be my OBGYN, and there we were, he's performing the scan, and I’m looking at the screen seeing the baby... it was just incredible. Such a beautiful little thing. Hair, eyes, the whole deal. She was waving her tiny fingers, moving around, making little faces... and most importantly, she was a girl. I saw everything... my beautiful rapidrider3...😍
Honestly, I’m tearing up just thinking back on it...

I keep dreaming about her...
And when I was walking home in the dream, it was bizarre. I was living in this little cabin with doors so low I could barely squeeze inside... dirt floors, absolute poverty, just total misery... but it felt so vivid, so real. Maybe that was my home in some past life...
Because I’ve never seen a place like that before... (and look, I believe in reincarnation...)

Anyway, please don't judge me for going off-topic like this... I just felt like I had to get this out. Just needed to clear my head... to share it...🙏

I double-checked the info, and she finally started on Tuesday, though she was about two days behind schedule... She mentioned she wasn't exactly sticking to the precise timing, either...

No, here’s the latest update—my left side was absolutely killing me last night. I actually considered heading straight to the ER... especially after that brown discharge showed up out of nowhere. But today, I think my best friend finally made it into town... 🤣Still waiting to see if I’m actually bleeding or if it was just some discharge, but honestly, I think it’s—that...
Thanks to everyone for the replies, you all really helped calm my nerves and made things feel a little less heavy... 😘

Look, I corrected myself above. She was supposed to start on Sunday (meaning when her period arrived, and then you start the next pack on the eighth day, if I recall correctly, she was on Tri-Sprintec), but she didn't buy them until Monday and forgot to take one, finally taking it on Tuesday instead. And she had sex on Sunday, the exact day she was meant to start the new pack. When she found out she was pregnant (she’d taken all the pills and waited for the bleeding to start after two or three days, but it never came, so she went to her OBGYN), she panicked because, obviously, those hormones aren't great for a developing fetus, but luckily everything turned out fine. As for how she actually got pregnant, even the doctor couldn't give her a straight answer, other than saying the odds were slim to none...🤷 unbelievable, but true.

- You start the first pack on day one of your period, then you have the break to bleed, and on the eighth day you start the next pack regardless of whether the bleeding has stopped or is still going. She had sex on that eighth day, right as her period ended. It's madness, I tell you...

^^So, what you're saying is, it was actually her last day of her period and not the first day she had sex... well, there you go. That means pregnancy is definitely on the table. I remember going through something similar once (I think, anyway)... except I didn't bother with the morning-after pill.

Quick question...
I really don't want to sound stupid or anything like that.
Though, let’s be honest—I probably am... I’d say the same thing if anyone else were asking this.
So, last week my boyfriend and I were "playing around" a little bit.
First, he was handling everything manually—I'm not even entirely sure what all went down there—and then he finished by rubbing it against me... so, is it actually possible to transfer sperm through your hands?
I know this sounds totally absurd and maybe it won't even matter in the end, but I'm honestly starting to panic here...🙄🙄
My period is about a week late... though, to be fair, my cycles have never been super regular anyway. 😕😕
Also, does anyone know which pregnancy test from a place like CVS or Walgreens is actually reliable once you've missed your period?

Look... the only way you're getting a real answer is with a test. With a delay this long, any of them should be pretty much 100% accurate.
They've got those $11 tests, like the Clearblue ones... the digital ones... they use strips, but they always worked for me.
Just head to the drugstore, grab one, and test first thing tomorrow morning using your first urine! (Honestly, just grab a cup... it's easiest. Pee in the cup, dip the stick for a minute until it hits that line on the strip)....😉

And let us know how it goes tomorrow!! 😉 We're waiting...☕

Honestly, I was kind of hoping someone would just tell me there's no chance...
😁 But since he's saying it isn't 100% certain, I guess we're just left hanging...
It's pretty much decided now, right? Are even pharmacies open tomorrow?
By the way, I have an appointment with my OB-GYN for an ultrasound in about a week... IF this turns out to be happening, will we actually be able to see anything yet???

There are always 24-hour pharmacies around; depends on where you're located, but here in New York City, there's always somewhere open...
But you really ought to grab a test before morning hits...

Are you absolutely sure you're seven days late? Is this the first time it's been this delayed? Any symptoms popping up?

You won't see anything on an ultrasound right now. There’s really no point in going before the sixth week... if you are pregnant, you're probably only about 2 or 3 weeks along at most...

Dennis Kim5, I honestly don't think you have much to worry about... I mean, I'm just not sure how likely it actually is to get pregnant that way. If anything was left on his finger, I find it hard to believe he could have pushed it deep enough to cause a pregnancy. Still, maybe just for your own peace of mind, it might be a good idea to take a test so you can finally relax a bit.

By eye contact. You can get pregnant just by looking at someone, so you're definitely pregnant now.😂
Honestly, forget the pregnancy scare—worry about the fingering. Go get tested before he passes you some strep (God forbid it's Group B) or some mycoplasma or bacteria.

That's way more likely than getting pregnant from hand contact.😁

Look, I'm just being honest... playing with rings on a finger covered in bacteria (hands are basically germ magnets).. is a direct way to get fungal infections and pass around aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.

I think at this stage, getting some swabs done is more important than obsessing over pregnancy...
and besides—if it were as easy to get pregnant as everyone thinks, kids would be popping out of every single mess we make--not just jumping out 😉

Yeah, I'll go get one first thing tomorrow... get it done and over with...
The thing is, I've been dealing with irregular periods for two years now. I was on hormone pills to get things back on track, and for a little while, everything seemed fine, but then my cycle just went totally haywire again (they say it's stress or whatever, who knows?)—anyway, my prolactin levels were high, which was likely why my period was such a mess (I've had them lasting up to 20 days), so I went to get my prolactin checked, and now that those levels are normal, my period still isn't showing up... 😢
