It wasn't so much that my period was late, per se, but rather that it coincided roughly with when I expected ovulation to end, right around the time I started experiencing those unusual pains that don't quite fit this part of my cycle. I suppose it's difficult for me to pin down exactly how late I am, given how irregular my cycles tend to be.
Another oddity this month is that I haven't had any of that typical abdominal cramping I usually deal with during my period; I didn't even find myself needing to reach for an Advil 🤷 I wonder if there might be some connection between this and the Marula supplements I've been taking?

So, what exactly is arugula?

I believe she’s referring to some sort of herbal supplement designed to support cervical mucus and regulate cycles, though I suppose there might be quite a bit of discussion regarding those specific methods on the wellness boards here.

I suppose you might be able to run it again. I wonder what kind of test you used originally—perhaps one that wasn't quite as sensitive?

I don't really remember, but I think it was around $16
I actually took a different test yesterday and there was this super faint line, like, barely even there. Seriously! My husband saw it before I did. And then this morning, things just sort of 😢😢

I haven't heard of it myself, but hey, maybe it works for you? Everyone reacts differently to meds, herbs, or any of those alternative remedies. It's all highly individual, isn't it?

Well, at least now you know what you're dealing with. Just get some rest for now, then gear up for the next round. 😉

Just wanted to give you guys a quick heads-up, I got my results back from the lab this morning. My temperature has finally dropped too. Everything looks totally normal according to the doctor, so there shouldn't be anything missing or wrong here...😠Anyway, gotta keep moving forward...🙂

I truly wish you the best of luck next time, as if it were my own.
I imagine we'll be waiting for that positive sign together again; this time, I think I'll be more diligent about tracking my temperature too.

Awesome. We’ll probably end up right back in the same boat regarding whether we win or lose this time around.
So, you can technically start tracking from the first day of your period, but honestly, it doesn't really matter that much. Most people say the fifth day is where it actually starts counting. I'm sure you're going to do your own deep dive and research anyway, but since I've been through this, here are a few little tips from my experience. If you use a basal thermometer, just hold it under your tongue every single morning the second you wake up—before you even start talking to anyone! Just five minutes. I actually use a digital one because it’s way faster and less of a chore, and I checked, and it works just as well as the old-school mercury ones.
I know the rulebook says you have to measure at the exact same time every day, but I’ll be honest, I don't always follow that strictly, and things still turn out fine. As long as you aren't drifting too far off, you should be good. I usually aim for somewhere around 8:00 or 9:00 AM, and that does the trick for me.
I do have to get up once during the night to use the bathroom, but there's no need to take your temperature then; I just go back to sleep. Definitely use the charting tool on Fertility Friend. Once you notice that big jump in your temperature, that means you likely ovulated the day before.
Anyway, just a few thoughts to get you started. Good luck!

So, here I am.
I’m honestly at a loss. I am just dying to get back to my gynecologist, but of course, he decided to extend his vacation right when I need him most.
Here's the deal: my period started on August 8th, but it lasted only one single day. It was way lighter than usual, and the cramping was pretty intense. By Sunday, it was completely gone—just some spotting left on the pad.
Since I’d been fighting with my boyfriend, I figured it was just stress.
But this dull ache in my abdomen won't quit. On top of that, I'm feeling exhausted, jittery, dizzy, and I have absolutely no appetite.
I took a pregnancy test, and it was negative...
Now I'm stuck wondering what's actually going on. Is it an infection, a cyst, or could I still be pregnant despite the test?
Has anyone else dealt with anything like this?

I went through something similar about six months ago. My OB-GYN told me that it happens to everyone at some point—just a brief hiccup in the cycle once a year. But honestly? I think the smartest move you can make right now is to book an appointment with your doctor. There is always that possibility of pregnancy hanging in the air. A close friend of mine had a perfectly regular cycle for two months straight, nothing out of the ordinary at all, but then her last one was late. She went to see her doctor and found out she was already three months along! Can you imagine the shock? She didn't even realize until she heard the news, and even then, she was scrambling to figure out how far along she actually was. I really don't want this post to scare you or cause any unnecessary panic, but please, just listen to my advice: go see a professional.

Same thing happening over here 🤷
only mine showed up on August 10th. Haven't bothered testing yet—still a little spooked from the last time—so I'm just gonna wait a bit longer...

My last period was July 12th, and before that, June 14th... I don't usually take any medication, and we generally use condoms, though there was one night where we didn't, even if we were trying to be careful... and looking at my phone's cycle tracker, it looks like we were right in the middle of my ovulation window when we skipped protection.😠

Naturally, once I realized it hadn't shown up, I took a test. I did one on Monday, then another yesterday. The one on Monday, using my first urine of the morning, came back negative. Then there was the one yesterday afternoon, but my urine was basically just clear water because I've been drinking nothing but water all day, so it was negative too—and honestly, I have no idea how reliable that one actually was🤷... My appointment with the OBGYN isn't until September 7th🙄... I just don't know, maybe I'm not pregnant, but then why is it late? I'm not really feeling any major symptoms—well, okay, I am constantly exhausted, there's this sharp poking sensation on my left side, and I'm urinating frequently (though I always go pretty often 🤣), and my discharge is mostly clear and quite heavy. That's about it... could it be some kind of cyst or something? Or should I just buy another test? I've been using those Clearblue tests so far, but I'm losing my mind here... there are so many possibilities, and of course, I'm terrified it might be something serious or dangerous... any advice?!🙂

So, you're saying you're more than ten days late? If you were actually pregnant, I imagine even the cheapest drugstore test would have caught it by now.

Tests haven't let me down yet—every time my period was late, I’d find myself frantically buying one after another, only to be met with a negative result, much to my disappointment.

Exactly. but why was yours late? I honestly have no clue why mine is running behind. I haven't been stressed, I haven't been sick... I just don't know.🤷 god, I just hope it isn't anything serious...🙂 maybe it's just a cyst, and those can cause delays, right? My cycle has never been this late before, except for one time when I was about ten days overdue, but that was because I was under massive pressure studying for finals at State University, and the moment I passed the exam, everything went back to normal that very same day...

My cycles tend to fluctuate between 29 and 35 days, so if I hit day 29 one month and then don't see anything by day 33 the next, I suppose I can never be entirely certain whether it’s actually late or just another instance of a longer cycle 🤷
and I imagine that kind of delay could stem from stress, or perhaps some physiological shift you haven't even consciously noticed, among many other possible factors

Actually, a cyst could definitely cause a delay. Mine has been late by as much as 18 days before...

Lately, though—over these last couple of months—it feels like almost everyone is dealing with a late period or some kind of irregular cycle. Why? Who actually knows... but there's definitely a trend here. Is it the summer heat or some other weird environmental factor🤷...

Since you already took a test, I'm assuming if it's negative, then it's negative. Period.

Have you noticed more saliva in your mouth than usual lately?

Hey everyone.
Quick question about pregnancy tests. I'm 8 days late, so I picked up a Clearblue test at CVS yesterday. I took it this morning and saw two lines within 2 minutes, but the instructions say you're supposed to read the result between the 5 and 10-minute mark.
It doesn't say anything about what happens if both lines show up before those 5 minutes; it only says that if a line appears after 10 minutes, the test is invalid and needs to be redone.
So, is this a positive, or am I just wasting my time until I retake it?
Thanks.

You're pregnant, congrats! 😍
They tell you to wait 5 to 10 minutes just because some people expect to see both lines immediately, kind of like how you saw them after only 2 minutes. Those two lines stayed there after the 2 minutes passed, right? If they did... oh man, huge congratulations, I would love to be in your shoes right now...👍

Congrats if you were hoping for a baby, but if you weren't... well, oops... now you're stuck with it.😉
