Hello everyone.

I’ll get straight to the point.

Today marks day 40 of my cycle, which means I am LATE. Over the last six months, my cycle length has typically fluctuated between 26 and 36 days.

About ten days ago, I experienced all my usual PMS symptomsβ€”lower abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, and so onβ€”but my period still hasn't arrived. πŸ‘Ž

My partner and I have been consistently using protection during intercourse, supplemented by pulling out before he finishes.

Now, given that my period is later than usual, and considering what I've read online about how PMS symptoms can mimic early pregnancy signs, I'm starting to panic about the possibility of being pregnant (which is absolutely not what I want right now).

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

THANKS

Just take a pregnancy test..
Look, if you were using protectionβ€”like a condomβ€”or if you’re on birth control, the odds of you being pregnant are basically zero. Honestly, it’s just as likely that you’ve just caught a nasty little cold or something..
On the flip side.. if your "protection" was just pulling out, then yeah, there’s a real chance you could be pregnant. Even though people think it's only an issue during ejaculation, sperm is actually present in the pre-cum too. It might be a smaller amount, but hey, it only takes one single sperm to make a baby happen..
So, seriously, grab a test and get some clarity. And even if the test comes back negative but your period still hasn't shown up.. don't just sit there panicking. Go see a doctor at a clinic or something. A missed period can be caused by a ton of different things besides pregnancy..

Look, I once had symptoms that felt exactly like my period was coming, only to find out I was actually pregnant, and for me, it wasn't a happy ending. πŸ˜›
I am not certain what kind of protection you were utilizing. If you were using condoms or birth control pills, there is likely no reason for concern. However, pulling out... well, it isn't foolproof. It might be nothing at all, especially since anxiety itself can delay a cycle, but you should eliminate the doubt and just buy a test. Even those cheap ones from CVS or Walgreens for $25 or $12 work perfectly fine, believe me. My own test showed a positive result that I was dreading to see.
In any case, good luck. πŸ‘‹

The distinction between PMS symptoms and early pregnancy signs can be incredibly subtleβ€”if there even is one at all. In my own experience, I simply felt my usual premenstrual symptoms were slightly more pronounced than normal, which served as my first hint. Once I realized I was actually pregnant, I was absolutely over the moon... 😍go buy a test!

I am currently being swept away by a million different hormones myself πŸŽ‰
I was, of course, attempting to suggest ending the relationship, but you are free to simply speculate on what was actually crossing my mind while I typed, given that my darling is 373 miles all the way across the country...

Look, I'm not attacking youβ€”we're clearly thinking the exact same thing, except my guy is 746 miles nowhere near me😬 right now.

So, where is your partner if you aren't going to say? Mine works over in New York City while I'm stuck at home in Providence, so there's no chance of us crossing paths for at least another few weeksβ€”just about the time the baby bump starts showing. 😍

Let's go to the cafe or the town hall before Vic loses his temper and makes us pay for it...

Condoms plus pulling out.

Unfortunately, I'm not on the pill, but after this incident, I definitely will be!

It was merely a lapse in clarity while typing; I had already clarified my intended meaning during the process. πŸ™‚
I was referring to actual intercourse.

I just realized

I’m a bit out of it right now, so my brain isn't even functioning properly.

I'm definitely taking a test tomorrow, but honestly, I'm terrified of what it might show.

Look, if you wait for the perfect moment to start planning, it will never come. It certainly didn't come for me; I was finishing up my degree, my partner was living in a different state, and between our schedules, we couldn't find a single window to get married in five years. But things have settled down now. Everything is finally falling into place. Don't overthink itβ€”it's highly unlikely you're pregnant given how difficult it can be to conceive. Just buy the test tomorrow and please let us know what happens. I'm praying that things turn out exactly the way you want them to.πŸ‘

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share that I tried a Clearblue test $6.75 4 days after my period was late, and it came back negative. Then, 6 days later, I grabbed an Early Detection one and... huge plus sign right there. So, yeah, just a heads up on how reliable those tests can be. On another note, things are still pretty tense with my dadβ€”not sure how it’ll play out, but I know God is watching over me and everything will work out fine. This is definitely going to be a nerve-wracking ride... kisses

Try to stay calm as much as you possibly can.
What’s done is done and you can’t run away from reality, whether you were pregnant or not... everything will eventually settle itself out. πŸ™‚

Listen, for now, you really ought to focus entirely on your own well-being. I am not certain whether you have reached a definitive conclusion regarding your next steps or how you intend to proceed, but regardless, the circumstances are clearly difficult. Hang in there. 😘
