Can anyone point me toward a solid dentist around the Indianapolis or Des Moines area? Private practice is totally fine with me. Thanks.

Hello everyone,
I couldn't find an existing thread on the forum that touched on this, so I decided to start a new one. Here is the situation:
I am 21 years old, and since I was about 9, I've been dealing with a diagnosis of a squint and deep eye inflammation, specifically uveitis. I have been sent through countless tests to try and pinpoint the root cause of this inflammation so we can finally resolve it, but so far, nobody has been able to figure out what is actually triggering it.
I have consulted with several different ophthalmology specialists over the years. Most recently, at the beginning of this summer, I had a consultation at the Microsoft clinic in Washington, D.C. (with 👍).
Their take was this: correcting the squint isn't the main issue; the real hurdle is the uveitis. Unless we identify the underlying cause of that inflammation and cure it, I won't be able to maintain good vision, because the squint will just keep recurring just like it is now.
They suggested that I need to undergo absolutely every possible test imaginable to hunt down the source of this inflammation, and honestly, the list they provided is massive.
If I were to try and get all of this done using only my standard insurance referrals, I would probably be waiting until I'm 60 years old before I finished everything, 😢 given how long the wait times are.
So, I am reaching out to see if anyone has suggestions for good, affordable private clinics where I could get these tests done. Of course, I would still use my insurance for whatever I can cover via referral.
Another option would be to try and get admitted to a major hospital, like Johns Hopkins Hospital or maybe a similar large institution, where I could run all the diagnostics at once, but the catch is that you really need some serious high-level connections to make that happen. I'm not holding my breath on that one.
Originally, I am from the Niagara Falls area, so if you know of any recommended clinics in Cleveland or the surrounding region, that would be wonderful. I am also open to options in Washington, D.C., or even looking abroad if it makes more sense financially.

Best regards,

Hi everyone!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a great general practitioner on Main Street?

Thanks!🙂

I’ve been dealing with some spider veins on my legs—nothing extreme, but they're definitely there. On my mom's side, there was actually some pretty significant vein issues, too. Since I'm still young, I’d much rather focus on prevention than jumping straight into treatment. 😉

So, does anyone have recommendations for a solid dermatologist who can actually take the time to perform a thorough initial exam?
Also, is there any way to get this covered through Medicare so I'm not stuck footing the whole bill myself?

Could someone please recommend a dental practice that specializes in porcelain veneers, provided they aren't prohibitively expensive? Ideally within the New York City area or its surrounding suburbs... though I wouldn't mind traveling as far as Cleveland if the quality justifies the trip.

Hey there. I'm looking for a solid neurologist over at Johns Hopkins Hospital—but anyone except John Smith, since he's out on medical leave right now.

Since we're already talking about seeing a neurologist... does anyone know which specialist in Washington, D.C. actually performs EMNG sphincter studies?

Does anyone happen to have a recommendation for a good general practitioner over in San Francisco?
I guess I’m officially retired now, and my new doctor just isn't really my cup of tea, plus her office is a bit of a trek from where I live, especially since I was seeing my old doctor for almost 20 years...

I’ll be moving to Washington, D.C. in mid-September.
My dentist actually saw me over six months ago because I was in pain, and at the time, she insisted everything looked perfectly fine. Well, I’m heading back in two weeks for the exact same issue, and honestly, this pain has been absolutely killing me for more than half a year now—it hits me every few days.
After looking things over this time, she finally admitted that I have cavities right underneath/next to the fillings on two of my teeth. 😢
The problem is, her schedule is completely packed for the rest of the month, and since I’m moving away so soon, I need to find a new dentist in Washington, D.C. immediately.

Could anyone recommend a high-quality professional who takes Medicare? I’m on a bit of a budget, so I really need someone reliable who knows their stuff.
I’m currently living near Naperville, so I’d ideally prefer someone close to that area.
😢 😢 Thanks a million to everyone!

If you happen to track down anyone great, would you mind sending me their address via private message? I'd really appreciate it!🙏

Does anyone happen to have a recommendation for a reliable dentist? I am looking for someone within the public health system rather than a private practice, ideally located somewhere near the Ravnica area or perhaps closer to one of the residential neighborhoods near Maximir
Thank you so much...

I'm studying in Washington, D.C., living in a dorm right by the Mississippi River, and I need a dentist. I haven't heard anything great about that local guy near the river, so I'm looking elsewhere... I have Medicare and everything, and it’s important to me that they aren't all the way across town. Most importantly, I need someone kind, patient, and understanding. I really don't want any extra trauma 🙂
So if anyone has a recommendation... I'm all ears.

Hey everyone. I need a recommendation for a gynecologist on the west side of town—I’m living over by Volt. I’ve actually been registered with John Smith (Spanish), but I haven't been back there in like ten years because my employer covers extra private insurance. Now I've got some tests lined up, so I really need to find a solid OBGYN.
How is Eleanor Roosevelt, over on Washington?

Thanks, guys. 🙂

I'm looking for a great dentist here in Miami.

I actually saw John Smith over at Gentex in Washington, D.C.—he is such an amazing young specialist! Seriously, I’d recommend him to anyone. He isn't cheap, but he really knows his stuff. That's exactly the kind of pro I need here in ST.
Any recommendations? Please!

does anyone have a recommendation for a good GP around Main Street?

Thanks!🙂

I’d say go with John Doe... she's great, and her nurse is too. I’m actually switching doctors soon since I moved, so if there isn't any room left... things might change 😁
I definitely recommend them because they're always super easy to work with, and they actually take the time to explain stuff clearly...

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a primary care doctor or a local clinic over in Miami?

And just like my last question, a decent dentist would be great too 😁 though honestly, since I don't go nearly as much as I should, I'll probably just stick with my current one back in Washington, D.C.

I know one GP who's actually great, especially when it comes to ultrasound diagnostics. She runs a private practice but her prices are totally reasonable. It's Jane Doe.

thanks for the heads-up..
it’ll definitely help, but I guess I could also use some kind of "government" coverage too, just for the referrals, potential sick leave, and stuff like that..

Hey there 😉

I'm looking for some solid recommendations in the nephrology field—so if anyone here has any firsthand experience or even just some reliable intel from someone else, please let me know!
Who are the top nephrologists in the US? I’m specifically looking for people where you aren't waiting months just to get an appointment (private practice is totally fine too)... basically, give me everything you've got.
Also, has anyone heard anything about Peter Smith over at Johns Hopkins Hospital? Has anyone actually been treated by him?
