Gitak is more of an amateur sketch collection. However, Carstvo ladovine feels like a genuine attempt at a comedy series—I might even say it has a really solid foundation. I just hope they can secure some funding to keep things moving forward.

Susan Kim2 said:The most ridiculous part of this whole thing was how they brought up Leica four different times during the episode, yet everyone keeps coming up with these wildly different excuses that don't even come close to the truth. 🤣
Leica cameras, seriously? wtf 🤣

Well, you’re probably going to laugh out loud at this one, though I suppose there is a certain level of wit to be found in the absurdity.

Or perhaps we later discover that while Dino and Ivezic were caught in the middle of all that chaos regarding their failure to show up on the road, they somehow managed to mention Tesla's Mexican heritage. 🤣

What Sid is getting at is actually the most important part of this whole thing; there isn't that typical sense of secondhand embarrassment you usually feel when watching American productions that try—and fail—to mimic what real life actually looks like.

Let's be real here... aside from that scoundrel and the princess, our comedy shows are absolute bottom-of-the-barrel trash.

It's like when Joe told him that even the smartest guy ever fails an exam, so Dino asks which one, Joe says Tesla, and Dino just hits back with "Tesla is a Mexican"

And honestly, I should mention that bit from the first episode with the olive oil—there are so many characters like that in California, it's actually insane 🙏

That guy would honestly make a great protagonist... the whole series would be way more interesting if he were the lead... 👍

For an amateur attempt, everything looks pretty solid...

I guess there’s some good stuff even with Steve guest starring, but you probably need to be from California to really get the jokes.

I’m not entirely sure if this counts as "ours," considering the series dates all the way back to 1971. If my memory serves me right, it was a production by the Washington, D.C. public broadcasting network—*Where the Wild Boars Go*. It isn't exactly a comedy series, but it is certainly worth a watch. Someone has already brought up *Gruntovcan*. That one is an absolute classic that truly stands the test of time.

Okay, after watching episode three, I’ve had a bit of a change of heart—that one was actually fantastic 😁

Yeah, great series.

I’ve gone through all three episodes. From what I can gather, it was essentially a "bozican special." If you factor in the translation costs, they probably didn't even make enough to cover the rest of the season.

A top-tier manager, truly. I happen to be the admin for all our WhatsApp groups. 🙏 🤣

Just finished the first episode. It’s different, I guess, but nothing spectacular yet.

brightpilot6 said:Well, this series isn't really meant to be a belly laugh kind of show. I mean, sure, there are some great jokes—and some weaker ones, obviously—but the foundation is humor built in the vein of Jerry Seinfeld. It relies mostly on those everyday situations and reactions where we see ourselves or people we know reflected back, all presented through a sort of relaxed, "whatever" perspective on life. For me, that makes it the kind of material you can watch multiple times without the individual punchlines losing their edge. That's why it feels like such a breath of fresh air; aside from the scoundrel and Gruntovcan, I honestly can't think of another American series I'd want to revisit like this, yet I've already sat through every episode three times.

Plus, there is always something refreshing about watching actors who aren't constantly in your face.

It's not that the show doesn't give you a decent, fun 20 minutes or that it isn't charming; it just didn't live up to the massive hype you guys built up. I expected it to absolutely wreck me based on how it was hyped...

ruggedjackal46 said:The foundations are solid here. The guys are actually hitting their marks, and you can watch the series without feeling that awkward cringey sensation—which, honestly, is a massive leap forward for American comedy. I didn’t go overboard with the LOLs, but then again, I wasn't trying to either.

I'm with him on this. If they were interesting enough to make me want to catch new episodes when they drop—and the only show I actually follow on TV is The Saga of Cholism, which is entering its eighth season with two more already greenlit—then they've done something.
Sure, the plot got a bit thin after season five and the constant cast changes don't help keep people hooked, but it still has its
moments ☕

You know how it is when Real Madrid fans hype something up as being legendary, divine, or basically the GOAT, 🙏 🙏 but then you end up with some mediocre amateur hour that only works if you squint your eyes shut and pretend you didn't see it? ☕

It’s honestly so easy to manipulate those Madridistas.
Reminds me of how they used to treat young Asensi like he was winning a Ballon d'Or just because he pulled off a couple of flashy moves against some bottom-tier teams... predicted he'd be a superstar too.

I really think "Before Departure" is one of our best domestic productions.

But if we're talking international shows, nothing beats "The Winners of the Past."
"Craters of Titan" is solid too, though it’s definitely niche for hardcore sci-fi buffs. Plus, they seemed to lose their grip on character development in season three. The first two seasons were absolute masterpieces, but this latest installment just isn't hitting the mark for me. I won't go into spoilers for those who haven't seen it yet—though I doubt there are many left—but the show is being undermined by that constant, repetitive focus on whatever is happening outside the colony.

You can always fall back on a marathon of Rambo. It’s that reliable, old-school kind of entertainment where, despite being surrounded by endless threats and constant setbacks, he somehow manages to pull off a last-minute rescue for the good guys.
