I considered posting this over in the Christian meditation thread, but on second thought, I decided against it.

In the heart of Washington, D.C., for the second night running, they’re playing those tracks by the ever-popular Fahrete Yahić Živojinović 😎

It’s hard to explain how I can never quite get over that narrow-minded, small-town mentality.
Honestly, I start to boil over like a pressure cooker whenever I dwell on this kind of thing. God help us. ☕

we used to blow off our frustrations—the real, valid kind—with heavy metal and punk, while they just sit there whining about their precious little feelings on some acoustic guitar... man, I swear, what a joke.

Honestly, I couldn’t care less about the whole scene itself—let people party if they want to, even if there's an audience for it. But seeing Madison Square Garden sold out two nights in a row? Seeing that kind of mindless frenzy? It’s a hard pill to swallow. Even world-renowned icons can only dream of the hysteria that old relic has stirred up among Americans 🤦.

And it isn’t just about questionable musical taste. It’s more about a catastrophic lack of shame, a total loss of memory, and a complete disregard for the sheer scale of this country—for its recent history, its deep-seated traumas, and those wounds that struggle to heal. For some, they never will. Yet, all of that is being trivialized by this kind of unrestrained, mass-scale indulgence.

Fahreta 🤣

Honestly, I’d be inclined to revoke the professional licenses of anyone who actually shows up to her concerts. ☕

Honestly, any music that isn't laced with those kinds of dangerous, hidden agendas you see in some of those radicalized folk artists is more than welcome in my ears.
Whatever floats your boat, I suppose.
It’s truly heartwarming to see musical purists like yourselves—who clearly fancy yourselves the ultimate arbiters of high culture and impeccable taste—looking down your noses at someone just for listening to a mainstream pop star like Taylor Swift.
What’s even more reckless, though, is the fact that you judge her music based strictly on where she comes from...

Anyway, I'm mostly with Amanda Evans2 here, though I don't really see any "dangerous messages" hidden in those Garth Brooks tracks either...

Hidden messages, you say? When someone sings to their late rival asking if they remember them, yeah, there aren't exactly any subliminal conspiracies buried in those lyrics.

But sure, New York isn't the same New York anymore, though let's be real, it would be the same story in any major US city. I won't lecture anyone on taste; people should listen to whatever they want. Besides, taste is dead anyway—doesn't matter if it's movies, music, or anything else. I couldn't care less if it's Taylor Swift or Despacito.
Ever since Disney bought and recycled Star Wars, nothing really matters anymore, so you might as well just stick to the heavy hitters from the old school...
